There are Taxi's and Pedi-cabs all over downtown.

I believe DIA (Airport)to downtown by Taxi is a flat rate. Can't recall exactly how much though. I think it's like 40-45 bucks. If you are planning on renting from downtown.

16th street mall is the pedestrian / shuttle bus only area downtown unless I'm missing another spot.

EDIT: Straight from Yellow Cabs website.

We specialize in Denver Airport Trips 24/7!

The driver must charge a flat rate around from DIA and Downtown or Denver Tech Center. No other stops may be made along the way. The flat rate applies regardless of the number of passengers/parties that share a ride. No other charges may be added to this flat rate for trips going TO DIA. No additional charges may be added if passengers/parties exit the taxicab at different airline terminals within DEN.

    Downtown: $51.00
Plus $3.50 Gate Fee for trips originating at DIA
    $5.00 Extra Drop

    DTC: $57.00
Plus $3.50 Gate Fee for trips originating at DIA
    $5.00 Extra Drop

I flew in to Denver years ago, and picked up my shipped in bike at Fay Myers. DIA to Denver is an expensive cab ride. Look for a bus or some other sort of public transportation.

Once you're in town it's not so bad.

Do you think they run up to midnight on a Friday though.I looked at the link up a few posts and do not see any "hours"

I don't mind a taxi for $50.00 from the airport if the car is 40% cheaper..
I just don't remember if I saw a lot of taxis driving around for a return to the airport..worse case I can just make a call for one..

This looks like a sore subject out there huh..:D

    Why not take Uber?
    https://www.uber.com/cities/denver

Or can not think of the other one a friend was telling me about last night. You sign up and get 5 up to $25 rides free...LOL He said it worked out for him, and he is a fan of Uber.

The bus from the airport to market street is quick and runs frequently. From market street you can get around prety quick.

The last bus (Skyride) out of the airport is 12:50 AM but they start back up again at 4:50. It cost $11/person. If you don't make it for some reason you can go ahead and catch the expensive cab. The skyride is really the way to go. You may be able to drop a car you rent downtown at the airport for a minimal fee. Some of the car rental places will pick you up and drop you off. I don't know if they will do that at the airport but they will come to your house.

I asked around a good bit (I'm also professional tour director, so it's my job to know) and most said they were told it would be approx $15 one-way from downtown to DIA on the new train. So slightly more than a bus and faster than all other methods. No doubt it will be revolutionary for Denver & anyone on the light-rail routes.

Not a 'sore subject' at all, really. The metro area is pretty spread-out, and mostly everyone drives/rides. I've never taken a cab here, and haven't used a bus more than once in decades. It's cheaper to carpool, and the bus schedules made using 'em much too slow.

Besides, there's lotsa friendly inmates around here. Offer a few beers at the hotel, and you may well have rides offered. :deal

Denver international to downtown is a 24 mile drive. Yeah we are a bit spread out. Blue shuttle charges about $30 for a round trip. Unless you take the sky ride bus any savings you get by renting downtown you will lose getting out of the airport. Stupid franchise and recovery fees just a scam to pass along the cost of convenience. I wonder how that will change when they finish the rail line.

That's the 16th street mall downtown. If you google the Cheesecake Factory, that is right in the middle of it (and pretty representative of the types of restaurants around there). It's an easy walk to Lodo (near union station) to the north. lodo has a little more variety in restaurants, bars, etc.
