Wow that looks like a pretty cool trip. I live almost as far away from L.A. as you can get in the continental United States and have never been there. My perception has always been mad traffic and interstates everywhere you look, which is probably accurate to a large percentage. However with this type of riding so close it makes L.A. seem like a very appealing destination for a fly n ride. Thanks for the heads up on such a cool ride.

Thanks LT for the kind words. I'm often surprised how many great riding destinations are overlooked or unknown in Southern California. It's a great motorcycle riding region with a ton of every kind of terrain. It helps to know someone who knows the great spots. You can easily rent a bike and ride two up up the coast or out into the desert... Or in this case through a wilderness area en route to a winery region.

I don't remember seeing this thread the first time around, but you know I'm all about enjoying ones local riding. Your normal=somebody elses exotic. :deal

Some of those photos if taken out of context I could be led to believe you were in another part of the world.

    Hi Dave,
Thanks for checking out this little gem of a destination ride... hidden within the metropolis of Los Angeles/ Orange County. Southern California has some amazing national parks, national forests and national wilderness areas unfortunately so overlooked because of their proximity to urban sprawl. Your reports and photos remind me to get out there and surround myself in the beauty I live near. And god knows I need the photography practice.
