Calling all volunteers!!! We will be holding the Pre-(don't) Fall Rally workday on Saturday, October 19, 2013 @ the rally site (Rigby Farms).

Mr. Rigby said "Its in pretty good shape now so shouldn't need much work."

So it should be a pretty easy day! Basically we walk the single track and put up arrows / flagging and trim any face slappers, etc. We work on the grass track flagging and basically clean up the campsite and Bonfir areas.

Post up if you can make it... More info coming as time gets nearer and we see what kind of volunteer workforce we have!!!

Here is the actual Rally Thread that has a map, directions, etc. Let me know if there are any questions!

Thanks and hope to see you there!!! :clap

I have another big oak down but 85% of it would need to be split. it was a very strait oak. wish I had a saw mill for it. I did make the crosses for Jens wedding out of it tho.

anyway it would be a lot of work to get it burnable unless you have a splitter and a big saw. and even then it's still BIG

Thanks for the offer, Switch, but I'm pretty sure there are many, many trees closer to the site and in need of less work to get them ready to burn! :lol3

Yeah the offer was far more of a joke then anything else. It took every inch of my saw to cut through the base. And and it really didn't get smaller till the frork. I cut it into 4 sections and it was all my tractor wanted to drag the first two chunks off. I hope I can come help but I still don't have a cover guy for the weekends.

:roflactually I'm called the set up guy, but I lost the guy that covered my position every other weekend so I'm on call every weekend now. But cover guy would work if I did the covering.:lol3

As much as I want to, with Barber the weekend before and the rally the weekend afterwards, I need to make an appearance at the homestead with the family instead. After all, considering my lifestyle, I need to keep my wife and daughter on my good side so they take care of me when I'm bedridden. :rofl

Lots of you have expressed interest in lending a hand in preparing for the rally. Well here's your chance. We will be doing some maintenance to the property on Saturday that includes trimming trees and bushes, putting up flagging and mowing grass. So, bring your sheers and pole saws and let's get ready for some fun! If enough folks commit, I'll cook some hamburgers.

Let's say 8:00 am Saturday morning.

With all the dual sport riders we have around here, it's a little discouraging seeing the lack of participation for this prep day.

I certainly hope there will be some folks just show up tomorrow.
