Has anyone recently had Dick work on their bikes? Or know of someone that's had a bike to him?

Just curious if he's still taking on business... at 50k on the GS, there are some things I would like to have looked over. Thanks.

Dick is one of the best BMW mechanics out here. I had the pleasure of working with him at Marin. I haven’t seen for a while, but that’s a guy who can’t stay away from a wrench or a bike for long. I’ll ask around for you.

I don't know local history well enough, but he was at MarinBMW before Cary Littel bought it, and stayed through until a year or two ago. I believe he's now independent, working out of Oakland...? or Alameda...?

I heard that he was still back at work but I'm not certain where....He ran his shop out of Redwood City for a while. FWIW, there's also a decent independent wrench in Scotts Valley...logistically this might be an issue for you city dwellers...
Anything in City Bike? What about Recommended Service in SF?

    Cheers,
    Jorge

Brit had an independent fella work on his GS with great results not too long ago. Sure he'd be happy to steer you in the right direction.
I hear he also picks up and drops off the bike, too....

"Dick" was the service manager at Bavarian Cycle Werks in SF when I bought my first GS in '96. I didn't know shit about shit back then (and not much more now) but "Dick" was very cool, concerned and patient. If we're talking about the same guy, I wouldn't mind running into him again.

Ted is Ted Porter at The Beemershop

He was the Serice Manager at SCBMW and SJBMW before going independent. I have never met Dick but personal reccomendations like those above, he must do good work and keep his customers happy.

I thought I heard he has a shop off San Pablo near the Oakland/ Emeryville border. Last I heard he is still at it.

Shoot, it seems the old phone number, that ended in 8684, has expired. Anyone have more current contact info to share by PM?
