..........................Turns out that he likes a mixed diet, our Adrian. For starters, main course and dessert he'd lined himself up a Spaniard, a Venezuelan, the Cheeky Girls and Havi the Spanish boyfriend of the cheekiest girl Mihaela:evil Me? The only person I get it in the neck from is the Mrs and she was 500 miles away so I wasn't worried:wink:

Since we were all mates, albeit all nervous of what dastardly deed the beast in our midst may commit, we went sightseeing:wink: The Cheeky Girls lived up to their name:lol3

Mihaela was confident that wearing a hat, fashioned from a tourist map, worn at a rakish angle would protect her from the suns harmful rays:D

Over a couple of beers Adrian tried to convince me that his wicked ways were over. All that robbing folk of their crimson bodily fluids was just a childish prank. Maturity and a need to pay the bills had meant a need to suck blood in other ways. He had become a LAWYER:eek1 I wasn't totally convinced. Why would he be looking for a summer house in an underground city?........

Why would one of his cohorts be measuring up the lounge for soft furnishings?

And why would he be looking for new recruits to howl at night from Kangol, famous for breeding noisy four legged folk?:huh

I'd had enough. Time to call the cops. They came, mob handed :clap

and, after comparing shades, he was led away:freaky

Phew! That was close. Off to the Taşyol I trundle when lo and behold:eek1

"F%^?k me! How did you get here?" "Told them I would suck more blood by raising petrol, Efes and Raki taxes.Be gone and go about your wicked ways they said." said he:wink:. "Better go and ride the Taşyol then." whimpered I:cry

The Demon of the Dark lapped it up. Here he could ride day and night, didn't matter:wink:

Thought I heard a wolf howl but it was only the Night Stalker getting his breath back.....

..........................We left Kemaliye the following morning after imbibing a couple of beers the night before and passing out at an unfeasibly early hour. The climb out was pleasing to the eye.

The mission for the day was to have a chat to the talking heads at the top of Mt Nemrut and shack up in a pansiyon somewhere in the region of Karad
ut, a village on the South side of Nemrut. Maps and the interweb were consulted. I swore I could hear a couple of mice tittering at the best laid plans of a couple of men. Feeling confident we engaged first and wobbled off. After a few hours we hit the snow line:clap

    rounded a corner....

    and saw the heads:clap

The track we rode to get to the heads petered out at the building on the right. The track we needed to take to get to Karadut can be seen at an angle to the left of the heads. Separating the two were 500 metres of snow, rocks, impassable obstacles and the political battle of wills between the mayors of the two nearest largest towns. The Northern road was fresh asphalt, the Southern road was cobblestoned. The two would not be joined because the local big wigs wanted tourists to arrive at, visit and depart the heads through their district thereby spending tourist spondoolies in their area. Can't fault the logic. A tad annoying though:D. So close and yet so far. A 56km 2 hour diversion far:clap

Want to know what a pissed off Romanian looks like?

Anyway after five fun days it was time to go our separate ways but not before Adrian made a list of who was likely to get it in the neck in Turkey:eek1

The list included, bickering mayors, well meaning Turkish blokes with their unique concepts of time and distance and hoteliers and restaurant owners in the East with fridges devoid of Efes:lol3

A couple of days later I was back home with my feet in front of the dog, stroking the fire. Adrian? He's out in the wilderness somewhere. If you listen carefully on a still night you may hear him:eek1. Alternatively you can find him here SpotWalla - Trip Viewer - There and back again

Stay safe fella, it was a pleasure:freaky

    Cheers,

Funny lyrics for this 2012 cover of the Eagles' song, I've laughed a lot reading it. And terrific narrative of the vampire biker too!:lol3

Another great RR. Riding anywhere you want, no one hassling you, and great food. I see why you like Turkey more than England. It's like Spain - the interior all seasons and the resort areas off season are eerily empty, but that's a good thing when you're DSing. More, please.

Thanks again 621Andy for sorting out the foreign folk with their flight and generally being a good sport:freaky

"Hey Blaize, why the bewildered look? Someone given you a haircut whilst you were having a kip?" Cool pup:D

Talking of pups, the first of the seasons fundraisers for the local strays and animal sanctuary was imminent. The better half had been busy knitting:clap

    painting roof tiles,:huh

and baking fruit cakes of which there are no pics 'cos I woofed the lot:hide

Anyway, cometh the day, cometh the crowds:clap

and one of the deserving causes. Jilly (aka Flipper) the puppy was dumped outside the local dog sanctuary. A sweet natured little girl with wobbly legs who hobbled about on her elbows. 1000 Turkish Lira was the estimated cost of an op to help her out.:deal

The Mrs was running a stall so I thought I'd better check up on her. She was doing OK, a local cat had bought her:clap

giving me a chance to slip away and have a ride:wink: Glad to see the storm has passed

    and the dive boats

big boats and little boats towing littler boats

    and Bougainvillea are all out:D

All in all a lovely day. Big hearted volunteers and a supportive public between them raised a record amount to go towards the feeding, neutering, treatment and rehoming of the local stray and abandoned dogs. And Jilly the sad, abandoned pup

named after the lady who found her?

Well the money was raised for her op. She's had some X-rays and the Mrs may be collecting her from the vets today:clap

    Cheers,

.............................Burkhard had strapped his skateboard to the back of his fun palace and headed south east from his wolf's lair in Bavaria. Better go and look for somewhere to try it out then:D

    Oh, we must be there:eek1

Though he's not far short of his seventh decade the man can ride. After a couple of hours we both needed to take on water. Even this he manages with a degree of composure and nonchalance:wink:

    as opposed to:cry

Anyway, nice sky on the way home:clap

Next stop RTWDoug's gaffe in Bulgaria for a HU meet:freaky:freaky

So the plan was to meet up with some old friends, track down Dave-in-Turkey and attend RTWdoug's HU mini meet, all in Bulgaria:clap

The old friends were the Double Dutchies, Marco and Dorine who arrived by spaceship:eek1

    to do some sightseeing

    and posing:D

When asked how he maintained his good looks Marco let me in on his beauty regime. Nothing more complicated than letting your topbox heat up in the midday sun and then face-butting it:eek1:eek1:eek1

    Sure works well, see:huh

We'd RV'd at Deb and Andy's place in Idilevo just up from RTWDoug's place.

A fantastic place with super hosts and a luxurious apartment for couples and their mates:clap:clap:clap

All too soon the couple of cloggies had to clear off on a bike tour before reporting back to the mothership. Best bugger off then, mate!

A few days later they used their bike as armour plating against an out of control tractor and trailer driven by an inebriated Turk on a mountain track near Permagon. Final score? A bashed up bike, two battered and bruised Clogs :cry:cry:cry and a banged up (by the Polis) tractor driver. :clap

Anyway, with the dyke walkers gone it was time to take in some more sights on Poly's bike which she kindly let me hire:ricky

Lordy, lordy, I'm falling for this place:raabia

    Aw together now :feelgood

Down the road a bit a plane nearly landed on my head :ddog

    Flown by this guy :cry

Who was one hell of a pilot 'cos he managed to land on this:clap

Next stop, tracking down Dave-in-Turkey Dave, and the lovely Linda, left Turkey a couple of years ago to start a new life in Turkey. We'd communicated on the interweb but never actually met. Better put that right. Here he is, with Tigger 'cos he bounces, apparently:wink:

Dave and Linda bought an old shed and have turned it into a fine house with a couple of sheds

    Along with rearing goats

    Linda is taking dancing lessons

However, all is not well in Dingly Dell. Dave and Linda don't have a bike. Better remind them what one feels like:wink:

A lovely couple of hours spent in great company. Cheers chaps:beer Better head back to Idilevo to see what's appertaining

On the way to Doug's place we stopped in a large town where a bunch of blokes were performing a variety of blow jobs :eek1

Others were shaking their limbs about in a strange fashion:wink:

and I have absolutely no idea what was going on here but there were kids in the audience so it must ave been legal:wink:

Eventually to Doug's place but first, how to get past ferocious Harley?

A tickle on her belly did the trick and I was in the hallowed courtyard :clap

Where on display were all sorts of bits of metal and rubber that had been forged, fashioned and fabricated to vaguely resemble motorcycles:clap

Seeking out Doug I came across a kipping couple:feelgood Bobby the cat and Martin. Martin is the same age as my dad. Martin rides his farkled Beemer around Europe. My dad stays at home and waters the roses and falls asleep in front of the telly, still love him to bits though:ear

Found Doug Dickin Around in Doug's Garage - ADVrider . Not sure what he was up to but I reckon Harley was getting her just reward for touching one of Doug's bikes without asking.:cry:cry:cry

And the meeting, well you're just gonna have to make the trip yourselves and find out what these meetings are all about. You won't be dissapointed :deal

Good to hear that the dutch couple are ok and hopefully Dave and Linda will get a couple of wheels in the future ...
Nice pastures and idyllic places , nothing escapes your eyes I see :D .
    Cheers DickyB ,
