Well I will keep things short. I had a minor collision this Saturday. I was out riding for my birthday and had the missis following. Well she didn't see me stop for a stop sign and I went flying.

I am still sore, but will recover. Wife is taking it pretty hard (she rides too) and just can't believe she did what she did. Car and bike are being repaired as we speak. I guess things will be back to normal.

Expect I probably get a free pass on motorcycle stuff from no one :D :deal

Where are the cries for the cager to be prosecuted? What about potential medical bills in the future, cost of repairs? Had this been a stranger, I'm guessing this would have turned into a 12 page bash thread on the driver with calls for anything short of a hanging. BUT she was your wife, AND a fellow rider?

Dude you got a huge deposit in the marriage bank! Enjoy that new gear!

SO, in short, even though many of us have decades in the saddle (myself 38 years) Lets not let our guard down when we get behind the wheel and relax!

Is she taking it hard because she knows she should have hired a professional? They never flinch. :rofl

I would ride with her in front of me for a while if you know what I mean.

    Glad you are okay .

Your insurance agent will get a good chuckle out of this one I think.

    Thanks for the birthday wishes.

She is still my wife and yes she rides. She is debating on getting a motorcycle of her own. She made a mistake and is really taking it harder then I am. She feels really bad about it.

My insurance agents both got a chuckle out of it. Especially sense I had just called to add the brand new car to the insurance.

How can you ride if you don't have a bike?

    Glad you're alright.

My buddies wife did this a few years ago. Their young daughter was on the back of the bike. She is still haunted by it. Probably because he won't let her forget it.

We share the bike. Or rather I share mine. She rides it mainly for fun, while I use if for fun and for commuting. We are just now getting to the point where we can actually have the time to ride out together. So probably looking soon to purchase one for her.

I wonder if she was just inadvertantly tailgaiting you. I notice sooo many drivers that follow other vehicles wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too close. It's sickening. I think people don't realize they're doing it (unexcuseable, but still possible).

As my parents learned in a small collision in their own driveway, if you run 2 vehicles into each other, it counts as 2 insurance claims :deal oh well, glad you're okay!

She doesn't tailgate me and usually puts quite a distance between us if she is behind me. She thought I was going to run the stop sign and had looked away for a second to check traffic and didn't anticipate that I would stop. Result, WHAM!!!

Yep, I learned that the hard way. :eek1
