I got V100 but I think they will give me new one because I will be racing on Sunday in heavyweight class.

I raced on saturday in the Vet class! Where where you??

    :ddog

I had an absolute BLAST out there on saturday. Rolled up to the start line having never been on this track before - had no idea what to expect. I got a bad start, huge hill climb, huge decent. A huger hillclimb, huger decent, then onto a ridge road, down some steep ass rocky bit, then full on supermoto style in a parking lot! through a creek and onto a car racing track kinda dirt oval thing with jumps! Hello 70 mph air!
I managed to pick off 7 or 8 guys a few of which were on the row in front of me...... no crashes, went fast and held off a leader for a little while. Great day.

Mike was out there kicking ass as usual. unfortunately he got a bad start as well but still kicked a lot of ass. He also went and co-rode a 200 miles race on sunday. ill be curious to hear how that went.

Barstow 200 went pretty good, I started on the second row with 3 other Senior A teams, got a bad start and had to ride dust for a while. Picked guys off one by one and finished the first 50 mile loop 8th OA and first in class. Donnie took off (we used two bikes), and came in about 5 minutes off pace due to riding the last 20 miles off the loop with a gimpy shock and the bike looking like a lowrider! I took off and all was going well until around the 20 mile mark I hit a BIG G-out in 5th gear and popped my rear tire. Luckily I had a mousse in the front or it would have been toast as well. So I rode the last 30 miles through some very gnarly rocky stuff at somewhat subdued pace, but still had a good lead when I got to the pits. Donnie and crew had swapped the shock on his bike so we didn't have to do a wheel change, and he brought it in 10th OA, 1st in class at 6 hours and 16 minutes.

awesome! nice result even after having to deal with some decent adversity. What I wanna know is, how'd you hit a G out in 5th gear, pop your tire and not crash? What's your rim look like? like mine?

Trust me, it was a 50/50 deal. I got lucky. I haven't looked at it yet, I'm sure there are a few loose spokes :D

And as far as the GP, I rode my freakin ass off, and I think I got like 8th or 9th, not sure because they don't even show me in the results :huh I know who I finished in front of, so hopefully they get it sorted. GP's are not my strong suit and the Magnum (over 50) race is stacked with various ex pro MXer's and other assorted moto specialists.

I dont know who the guy is that won your race but he destroyed it. He was minutes ahead of the M1 GP guy and that guy was good.
He was the only person I saw come through that left hander before heading back onto the MX track totally wide open and throwing up a rooster tail.
It was a fun one to watch and to be up in the stands yelling for Coyotes!!

I was there on Sunday racing in my new class - Heavyweight Novice. As it turned out it was way more competitive than sane Vet class, a lot of bumping and aggressive riding.

Loved every second of it, finished 6th in my class and 23rd overall (out of 70 starters) Fell in in deep mud my on 1st lap, that was funny but not fun afterwards, riding with wet and slippery left glove / grip.

Overall this was by far the best GP I have ever done - not dusty, not rocky, fast and flowing course, perfect weather and world class track. :clap

I really wanna go..... my 525 is fresh out of the shop with new rubber and I have a sense of purpose!!

However, having a wife that's 6 months preggo..... convincing her to drive 2+ hours out there to sit in the 90+ heat.... pretty tough. Gunna have to miss this one. I may have time to do a race in June though!

So I did go and about halfway through the race I caught myself thinking that I wish I didn't. It was so dusty that following anybody close was impossible, and I kept thinking that I cannot afford to take any chances trying to pass in ero visibility. What happened to watering the course?

I got the worst start ever, for some reason I keep going sideways when the flag drops. Dead last into turn 1 and instead of pushing to pass as many people as possible I just stayed back thinking I could pick people one by one. Wrong. The dust made it dangerous and I just fell back. The course was beat to sh*t with braking bumps all over the place. Overall the layout was nice but the dust ruined it for me. Did I mention it was dusty as fu*k? I guess that is why they call them dirt bikes :)

Anyways, I ended up getting 8th in my novice class. Heavyweight 450 is quite a bit more competitive that Vet 450 so I was not surprised. As much as I hated it next after the race I already wanted to race again. I guess suffering makes me feel macho. Too bad next race is not until October ;(

Yeah it was pretty darn bad dust wise. I got a decent enough start, 3rd coming down the hill, but once we hit the MX track I fell back pretty quick. Ended up 8th in class and OA in the mag race. The back section was so bad that if you started trying to race someone you just couldn't see anything.

I gotta get over my fear of jumps.

you mean your fear of falling out of the sky? That's not fear as much as logic

    :lol3

Im getting better about it, I doubt Ill ever be agro off the jumps though. I was brave enough to taco my front wheel at Glen Helen.... so yeah getting slightly more brave. Getting tired of replacing fork seals though.

Yeah Im itching to get out there too.... gunna have to wait till sept. I almost feel good for not heading out for this one with all that mess

It's funny, sometimes I can go for it, other times I can't. Right after the MX track they had a small Enduro X section with a small double coming out of it, and I hit that thing first time sight unseen (they didn't run the section during the unclassified race :confused) and half landed on a guy that didn't go for it :lol3

    Go figure.
