They are both 500's.
`80 XR and a `81 XL.
My small collection
ahh the xl looks so much like my 100 i started on, i loved that little bike, never had a single problem with it.
hmm do i have to wait till i get my ktm or can i just post a link to the one i put a deposit on lol. then id have to post a link to the picks of the garage as it sits.
My 990 gets along with my 73 Eldo
The stablemates to my 2008 950 SE do not suck.
You can even ask my 8 year old. He knows!!!
My 950 ADV spends its nights with these...
And with this...
All the existing orange helped make my KTMs transition from its old home to mine much easier.
Is that a Spondon frame on the triple? Looks like a single-sided arm. WOW! :eek1 That bike is SWEET! I'd love to have something like that parked next to my MV.
The 950...................yeah, it's nice, but nothing special like that triple. The RGS is nice too.
The 500 must be a rare bird. Never seen one. (My Dad was a Laverda dealer)
The other two are great bikes, just under-used these days thanks to the 990's big grin factor. But "suck" NO.
Suddenly, my Kawi became green with envy when the 950SE arrived.
And I was thinking how much I'd like to have your MV parked next to my Spondon! Yeah, single sided arm with RC30 hardware. The 500 is a Montjuic, around 250 were made and its one of less than 10 in the country. Of all my bikes its the most fun too.
I used to know some guys back in CA. who had and actually rode their MVs. I'll never forget one day I rode with them, on my GS750, way back before I had a Laverda. 3 MVs all with those super sexy curved Magni "silencers". I was happy to spend the day in the back listening to the music!
Where was your dads dealership?
So, my Spondon guess was correct? And I thought it was an RC30 s/arm. VERY, VERY nice!
As to the "riding" of an MV, well mine get's ridden a lot during the nice weather....
and then it moves into the living quarters of our house for it's winter slumber..................
(sorry, I'm a sucker for any excuse to post pics of my bike)
My Dad's dealership was in Wayne & later Kinnelon, N.J. and it was called "The Sport Spot". We sold all Euro bikes, 'cept Spanish ones 'cause Dad thought they were POS.
Nice FZ....the old one
I picked up an 87 a few years ago for my girlfriends first bike ( she is now on number 5)
Loved how everyone used to stop to talk about the bike. Unfortunately when the FZR came out the poor FZ kinda got pushed to the side and most were trashed.
We actually sold ours to a guy that was going to restore it for a private collection.
Here's a couple of my 990's stablemates. 1954 BSA Road Rocket built from a small box of parts to Rocket Gold Star specs, and an all original 1952 Norton Model 7 Dominator (500 twin). Daughter and I took them to Miller in 2009. Do they suck? Norton, no. BSA, sometimes!
2009 200 XC-W: My A bike.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
2005 CRF450X: My B bike. When compared to the KTM. Yes, it does suck.
Couple more for the trails. 02 GasGas Pampera 280 (daughter's) and my 04 KTM 200 EXC. Do they suck? No.
Little Brother with as big a tank.
That totally does not suck, well done.
Nothing fancy but my MC family is happy.
