She never went far on my bike.

She was a foster dog for Foothills Golden Retriever Rescue and found a permanent home a few weeks after this picture was taken.

:clap This little guy get that same "serious motorcycle rider" look that Dawson does when he rides, lol, ears pinned, nose in the wind, & watching everything.

Anybody got any thoughts on hearing protection for our canine riding companions?

As for doggles for eye protection, I've tried and tried and he just flat out refuses to keep them on.

Sometimes, if I'm doing autobahn speeds (the toll roads here arent patrolled, sometimes I cruise at up to 200+ km/h, with and without dog), I tie a bandana around his ears just to keep them from flopping around. However, if he's either sitting in front behind a windshield, or on the back right behind your back (the way mine rides), he's pretty well protected from wind and engine noise. It's like riding in a convertible car.

The doggles seem to be best while riding in really dusty or wet conditions. Normally my little guy is much more comfortable without them.

Isn't it great how well these guys can communicate their comfort or discomfort? Even without seeing him, I can feel him move behind me and know if he's getting tired or scared.

At times, i worry about possible damage to Pugsley's hearing while riding, but not sure how to protect them. Yes, it is amazing how these dogs can communicate while riding behind on the pillion. I've had Pugsley for almost six years now, and am still amazed by this little character. http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc418/treeman1941/PA180537.jpg

Tried the Doggles too, same deal, no go with Dawson, as far as hearing protection I have actually taken my helmet off & put my head where he rides & run it up to 85 or so & honestly I think most of the noise I hear is generated by my helmet, where Dawson rides it is pretty quiet actually.

:lol3:lol3 This is Awesome, I have seen all four of those looks with Dawson, I wear a collar with a segment of an old leash on it that clips to his harness when we ride & the crazy hopping dance he does when I put on my collar is hilarious, he knows he's going somewhere when I put on my collar, lol, when I get my helmet & don't put on my collar I get look #4.

Here the little sidewalk superintendent is checking to make sure they are doing it right in a construction zone on the Dalton

& This one is a bit lengthy climbing the Attigun pass but also shows a bit of him keeping an eye on my buddy Don when he pulled over for a pic, funny as hell, if I lagged back at all following Don, Dawson would give me this "what are we waiting for" look & if Don lagged back much Dawson would be looking over my shoulder checking on him.

We did 12,000 miles like this in 2 months & now not only does he expect to go everywhere on the bike with me, I feel like something is missing if I ride without him. Best co-pilot you could ask for, always up for adventure, never cares what the weather is or how far, never complains about sleeping in a tent, doesn't care how cheap the hotel is or what we have for dinner.

You can tell a guy is secure in his "manhood" when he rides around with a "purse dog" in his tank bag. :rofl

I've had several people ask what kind of dog Tyler is, and since lots of folks have never heard of Papillons I'll typically reply, "Bavarian Wolf Hound" which of course results in puzzled looks.

One day when stopped at a red light in town with Tyler, a SUV with kids were next to me windows down, giggling about the dog on a motorcycle and the lady driving asks the question, I give my normal "Bavarian Wolf Hound" answer to which she replied, "funny, looks just alike a Papillon."
