    Here goes......
After being house bound for best part of a week and SWMBO back in the UK, i told myself rain or shine i'm playing out!!!!
So Thursday evening i posted on BCF (our sort of expat forum) Who wants to play out on Saturday ???? by Friday only one answer of yes for Ben 2hrs north of me in a place called Correze, we arranged to meet at Collonges-la-Rouge, half way, ( you'll see why its called this later) Then last thing Friday night my mate Andy shouts up i'll come !!!!
    So now it's 3:freaky

Checked weather and all looked good :clap arranged to meet Andy in Souillac at 9am and Ben at 10am.

Saturday dawned foggy as hell in the valley
    [IMG]

But of i set riding down and then out of the morning mist
    [IMG]

Sun still very low but promising to be warm
    [IMG]

Got to the D820 and headed for Souillac back down in the Dordogne valley, i hate these busy French roads
    [IMG]

Couldn't resist stopping half way there for some more pics !!! sometimes out here you could be the only one alive...... i love it
    [IMG]

Onward and upward ..... and down into Souillac and 1st time over the Dordogne
    [IMG]

Lived here for 7 years now and never taken any pics of our main town !!!! so as it's dead lets have a look

Morning officer :evil the Gendarmes have just passed me very slowly !!!! but they're more interested in the bike
    [IMG]

Jumped back on the bike and popped round the corner for a pic of this
    [IMG]

And the public well !!!!! there's another still in use in the middle of town and boy is it nice water
    [IMG]

Still a bit of time before i meet Andy so off down the back streets
    [IMG]

Ok times up ....get to rendez-vous !!!! still time for a smoke outside the IRISH BAR.......there's one everywhere :D
    [IMG]

    SO BUSY !!!!!!!

Andy arrives a little late so no pics as we neaded to get a move on!!! 30mins later we stop at Noanles and get some pics of this crappy old house
    :D:D:D:D
    [IMG]

These crosses all over this part of France !!! a lot cermemorate where locals where excicuted during WW2
    [IMG]

    An old Church we passed
    [IMG]

We climbed higher into the sun to drop down to Collonges-la-Rouge back in mist
    [IMG]

This cleared in less than 100yds and we pulled in to see Ben waiting for us
    [IMG]
Then there where three ......and the suns shinning:clap after saying hi we headed of into the village for a brew
    [IMG]
Its November and them there's grapes:freaky
    One of the nemer buildings
    [IMG]
The mist kept rolling in and out
    [IMG]
    Anyone know a good carpenter
    [IMG]
Mind you it's over 300 years old so i don't suppose it's do to bad
We found a bar a got our selves a coffee .....that corn above the door is what they fill the geese up with for FOIX GRAS smashing stuff on a lump of toast.
The place wasn't to busy ..........all the tourist have gone home:clap the roads are all ours again ....no campers, caravans and people doing what tourist do.
    Great sink by the way
    [IMG]
Here's a few more pics ......even older buildings
    [IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

On the road again heading we know not where.....ending up in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. The three steeds
    Lc4 KtM..... nutters bike
    Transalp.....trusty steed
    Varadero....the beast (mine)

    Good old French coffee
    [IMG]

After the coffee and several smokes it was off again
    [IMG]

This time we decided on a destination .....Argentat but had to have a look off the top of this hill first
    [IMG]
    Passed this old mill
    [IMG]

Pulled into Argentat around Noon so why not eat .....i was to hungry to photo it:evil but here's some pics of our view
    [IMG]

Fed and watered ....where now ???? lets have a look at Tulle
    [IMG]
No i'm not walking up them!!!!!
Not the nicest place i've been to but you can't win em all.... as it was we were only about 12 miles from Bens dads place .....free brew me thinks :clap
    The view from Bens dads
    [IMG]

Theses are the sort of roads we mostly ran on !!!! wet leaves :eek1
    BUT GREAT:rofl
    [IMG]

We left Bens and headed south west into the rapidly setting sun
    [IMG]
With legs like that i should of been a POLE DANCER:D:D:D
    [IMG]
Memo to self find a way of getting onto that old disused railway track
    [IMG]

Last crossing of the Dordogne today ...oh and another old crumby house
    [IMG]

5 miles from home now Andy went his way 10 miles back ....;one last look at the river
    [IMG]
Here we are back at our little village in SW France
    [IMG]

And a last view of the sun set that was mist 8hrs 30Mins ago!!!!
All that and only did 251 klm

Hope you enjoyed this 10% of how much i enjoyed the day

I'm down near Mazamet in the Montagne Noire. Quite a way from you by the looks of things but if you're ever round this way let me know. Some great riding round here! Will keep an eye out for upcoming meets on BCF once I get the bike sorted, hopefully very soon.

We would be in the Venasque area and initially plan to do day rides from this location with possibly an over-nighter. Looking at Google Maps, it appears many passes are within striking distance. :thumb
