Maine is kind of a dead end road, no place to go but Canada or back home to the south...But we do have the mtns, the ocean and and plenty of wilderness. You can see snow, the ocean and a moose all in one day, without breaking the bank........there are plenty of campgrounds, lobster and beachsand....you choose.

Just can't see the wood for the trees.........!

I'd like to visit Maine, last time I was stateside we flew to Boston and toured Massechussets a bit of Vermont and some of Newhampshire it was great country, lots of trees turkeys and skunks. Never made it up to Maine though.

When is the best time to visit? Is it like Scotlandshire?

    Tell me more........

Maine is beautiful. My brother is scattered there, as down east as you can get. Are you aware that you can go west too? There are these states by names of New Hampshire and Vermont and New York you might enjoy checking out. ;)

Did a three yr stint in Maine, no such thing as SUMMAH, just 3 months of bad sledding. And for those of you not in the know, sledding up there is snowmobiling.

OBTW, by "stint" it is meant I was stationed up there there while NAS Brunswick was open way back in the 90's.
