    Los Cabelleros de Mui Rapido:

I left my home on the south shore, late as usual, to meet SlowPhil in New Germany. nothing eventful happened - I didn't even take any pictures. From there, Philly and I headed up Highway 10 to meet Yellowknife at or near squirreltown, but seeing how we were late to the rendezvous point, I told Yelly to just start heading this way.

We met up in Springfield, and then headed to Squirreltown…Which brings me to the first pic I took today. (DAMHIK! – I’m supposed to be getting better at taking pics while on a ride.

Philly and Yelly on the bridge:

This is actually a tributary of the Shannon river system – I’ve been flyfishing here in the spring, before the bugs really come out, and the fish are hungry sumbitches.

The water was sure a lot lower than it usually is, evident on the rocks
    [IMG]

    Anyway, Onward!

I noticed on Google earth that there is a loop you can do, around Scragg Lake, past Birchbark Lake, and then between little sucker and big sucker lake, ending back on the #10 highway, or on to the railbed trail.

We stopped at the edge of Scragg Lake and cooked a proper lunch. SlowPhil and Yellowknife had steak sandwiches, and I had steak and baked potatoes on my KLRista Grill. You can see the grill in the pic. I made a cup of coffee, while Phil had a hard time keeping his clothes on for some reason – never try to reason with a man strung out on moonshine.

From there, we went down a road that had a sign saying the bridge was out. Cool – I didn’t know there was a bridge!

Turns out the bridge is not out, just in a state of disrepair. We found a bunch of ATV people, not sure of the bridge. “Let me at it” I said.

    I went over like nothing.

Then some stupid John Deere thing.

    Then Phil:

And finally Yellowknife, stressing the limits of said bridge with the Big Grey Pig:

    Easy…
    [IMG]

    Phew! Made it
    [IMG]

On our way out to the road, I went through a series of whoops, and heard a loud KA-TUNG, and felt like I had hit something in the front. My forks seemed to be sagging, and were really soft. Shit – I think I broke a fork spring.

I tried to take some pics of the sag, but it doesn’t sag until you get on it. I have about 2” on front suspension travel until bottom out. Oops.

The fork boots are usually tight:

    Oh well, ONWARD!

Wait, holy shit is that a snake eating a frog?

Yep. He actually got the whole thing down and then slithered off in to the woods. Yellowknife got video of the departure, and I hope he’ll post a link here.

I’ve never seen a frog like that before. Weird.

Well from there we decided to slab it in to Bridgewater and get a coffee.

Then we thought, since it was such a perfect day, why not head down to the Beach?

Crescent Beach, is the only beach in Nova Scotia that it is legal to drive on. We drove on the beach.

    This happened a lot today:

    Yellowknife on the beach:

    Yellowknife and Slowphil
    [IMG]

    Uhh, oops. We’re kind of making a shit-ton of non-beach noise…at someone’s wedding. Oops – sorry.

    And me:

Um, okay, look, an Osprey with a fish. Neat.

After that, we decided we’d had a full day, so I led the guys out of the beach, and we headed back. Since this is my stomping grounds, I turned off for home, and the other two were headed back up highway 10.

Good day today – Thanks for coming out guys!

I have videos but they no load on photobucket so it is just pictures of the carnivore snake. It was a bad day for frogs and fish it seems.

Phil couldn't watch the frog being eaten but I have it on Video if he ever wants to relive it. Will work on posting it up asap. The frog pleaded for us to rescue him but I wouldn't stop videoing to help it. I asked the snake if frogs tasted like chicken but his mouth was full so he couldn't answer.

Steak ala Slow Phil for lunch was great but no starbucks to wash it down with. Bloody heathens I tell ya! I tried calling BMW for an airdrop but I kept getting a busy signal.

For anyone else who may ride with this band of hooligans be forewarned. The insults and ribbing never end. Thanks for the mental health ride Guys - I needed this ride badly.

You can pay a therapist 200/hr to talk about your problems, or you can go for a ride with your friends. Anytime buddy.

Btw, you owe phil $875 for lunch, and my fee came to just under $1800 for leading the session today. Sorry, no cheques, only crisp unmarked plastic bills.

What is this Dial-Up you speak of? You live in Fibre-Op territory. That is supposed to come with your subscription to the BMW Owner's Magazine.

You two were quite the spectacle with that snake, I've seen it before and was more interested in seeing if the road led to a lake but not you two, oh no. For a long way down the road I could hear you two like a pair of vouyers Wow look at that, I've never seen that before, thats fascinating. I think you two should get a life:rofl

Yup was great fun, lets do a trip to New France next, we can tie a kids wagon on behind so C-Stain can sit in it and say he was riding along with us or do we really want him along at all:eek1?

High speed is so fast on the BMW that they only offer it on the water cooled GSA to avoid melting the computer - obviously i will have to buy the new GSA when it comes out. :lol3
