Yes, but importing a modded truck into Canada would be a serious PITA. I thought about that after I asked for the link :(

That thing isn't modified in any way that would concern DMV.
Sometimes less is more when it comes to information .
If you know what I mean .

I totally get that, BUT...an out of country inspection is a whole 'nother kettle of fish. If the the mechanic doing the inspection catches that the axle is relocated and the frame is shorted I think that would be it. Once it hits 15 years old it would be possible.

    http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/safevehicles-importation-index-443.htm

Combined that with the length and expense of the road trip...It's a risk I cannot afford right now as much as I would love a truck like that.

    Under the knife again.

Today was a good day to start work on the beast once again for a minor makeover.

I need to square off the ass end and reinforce things right to handle the added stress of my car hauler extension.
I thought it wound be wise to cut out the last cross member and install a full width piece.
Also the existing cross members are 1/8th inch wall and I wanted upgrade to 3/16th wall for the end piece.

Body work removed, before hacking and tearing.

The welding I've been doing lately has been outside and this winter has been one cold bitch.:huh

The rear panels are temporary till I get some fresh aluminum.
I fashioned them from the old roof panels.

The rear view reminds me of a dirt modified race car.
I'm kind of liking it and may expand on this look some more.

Time for an update though not much of one.

It's been a fairly busy summer, since my last update here anyway.

Since then I've replaced both of my bikes, ridden cross country and put a new deck on my house among other things.

The deck incidentally was a condition of getting another 990.:D
    Give and take I guess.

I have been using the bus though and put 2 or 3 thousand miles on it this year.

I've been slacking too much and it's time to do something even if it's wrong.

Interior work and the bed are the first order of business as well as some sort of tailgate.
I need wood for heat and have to start collecting some, the bus holds a lot.:deal
