I'll be getting new clutch plates (OEM), as Mulekick said, while i'm in there, might as well replace. For the extra amount of money it will cost, I might as well get new springs too.

The fingers on the outer basket had some grooving, so i'm in the process of lightly sanding with a dremel at low speed so as not to make the matter worse, then follow up with 600 grain, then polish with the dremel.

If I see that the plates don't match up well with the fingers once assembled, then i'll get a new basket. Would hate to see the price of a new one!:eek1 Anyone ever buy the Kientech basket?

The fingers on the inner basket look and feel fine. No grooving is felt when I run my finger over those splines.

I've changed clutches in jeeps, half tons, and farm tractors before. Doing it on a bike should be a walk in the park.:D

Sounds good, bike cluthes are super easy to change, nothing at all like a cage clutch in terms of difficulty. Be very careful not to take off too much metal with the dremel! I've never ordered a basket from jessie, didn't know he sold them for that matter. I have used billet baskets on mx bikes before and they do tend to last longer than stockers.

I've seen Black/Yellow ones on eBay and other sites, which may not look to bad, but not Black/Blue. That may be a little tough to find.

How about showing off the new bike. Where's the pix?

Why do this Dr just look mean for some reason? It just looks so much more aggressive then the others. Like its more balanced, the rear is as high as the front, i don't know, just looks mean and really good and sporty. Im assuming suspension, but the 98/99s have the off road suspension aswell.

I think Guts racing might be able to do seat covers in different color combos. I know they do all black for sure 'cause I've got one:deal

    Most likely....

I wouldn't hand out any meal money until I looked at it and gave it a solid spin test for 2K.....offer him $1600 CASH on the barrel and play poker. That way you have abit of room to clear up neglect.

IMHO 2k is high side but I wouldn't sell you my bike for a million....Dig~?

I'd say that if its in decent shape its easily worth 2k, if its pretty beat then you could probably snag it for less. Condition really makes more difference in price than mileage or year I think.

    Sweet deal:clap

The plugs tend to get rusted in if not removed and coated in anti-seize early in life. I wouldn't worry about it too much, all they are there for is blowing carbon out of the exhaust and these bikes don't tend to make much carbon so long as you don't run them insanely rich.

Haven't even seen the whore yet and it makes mine worth more......:lol3

Ps~I'm mostly joking...A low milage DR is worth that....:deal
unless it don't run or has obvious signs of being neglected....

I beat on mine and it is easily worth what he paid and I have 5K more miles on her...

    It's a sellers market....Your not getting mine at any price.They don't make them anymore.....:deal
