oops its the 350sm, still getting familiar with this motorcycle.
Yeah..that's what I was thinking. I'm waiting for a mate of mine that owned it to contact me...we'll see.
Haven't been out again yet (just finishing up work for christmas) but I'll take it out christmas morning and test it.
Let's get it all working how it should and go play....fettling can come later.
Thanks for posting....Straight forward smiley would be good eh?
Does anyone know what the 4 letters/numbers mean on the right side of the carb? (brake side)
The bike is street legal but the PO put a dirt flat slide carb on it. Never specified the origins though. No other identification or part numbers just:
I don't think it is the Mikuni pumper , maybe the knock off selling on fleabay ?
After looking at pics and such, it seems to be a TM33 but still can't get a deffinate. The carb does say Mikuni corp on it.
I'm sorry Mate I just didn't see those numbers on my TM 33 but hey I'm old blind and a wee bit stupid anyway .
The code is the carb ID - I can't tell you what that carb is but all of the TM33s and BST33s used on DRs had a code 14xx - I think the TM33s were always 14D0, and the BSTs had various XX's depending on the jetting and the country.
Ahh yes a 91. That would be a kick start with manual decomp.
Most of the time one rarely uses the year code to discribe their DR. S for street. E for Electric start. Nothing or DIRT for dirt.
The only time I think it is worth while to list the year code is if you have a 99 S. Cause you'd be riding yourself someDR350 "SEX"!!!
So its a toss up.
Not too worried about it but with the carb leaking while turned off and irratic idle, id like to know what im about to tear in to.
Carb leaking while off is likely the float or needle seat....which could also cause the idle issue.....
I have a close to new 33mm pumper carb with intake adaptor, throttle cable, and throttle tube from Kientech eng.for the DR for sale. I'll take $300 + shipping with Jesse's installation info.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Picked this up for a 1000 bucks saturday before Christmas.
The rest of the fleet is an '05 Yamaha XT225, '99 KX250, '00 RM250 and there's a little "80 XR80 on the bike lift getting a restoration.
That's a score....Nice bike. I am looking for a set of frame guards (like yours) with no luck. Anybody have any ideas where to find them?
Sweet score. I really really really want a set of those Acerbis white plastic frame boot guards. Want to sell yours?
I read something about the swing arm on these bikes flexing quite a bit, can anyone give me the lo-down on this? I was wondering about swapping one with my 94 dr650.
I weigh 170lbs and haven't noticed.
or you can skip the index and get there directly http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=15554223&postcount=196
Gosh, if they're so great and hard to find I should prolly hang on to them!
But if I ever find some polished aluminum ones to match the set on my RM I might be willing to swap these
for some other tid-bit of DR goodness!!!
! have a 1990 Suzuki DR350S dualsport and I am about to change the engine oil and filter. The bike only has under 1500 miles on it. I normally use 10W-40 regular oil and am considering changing to 10W-40 synthetic oil. I've heard both pros and cons about synthetic. What do you guys think? Thanks, Frank
