Did adding gas make the problem go away? The routing you have will not let you get the last third of the tank, so you could easily have fuel but not be able to use it.

There are a number of routings in various threads but all try to minimize the lift of the hose from the tap to the bowl, and all try to keep the right side line from getting too close to either the head or the exhaust pipe. I used strategically placed zip ties to hold the line in the places I wanted to avoid excess heat.

I don't know what the size of the line is - I just use the clear line (I think 3/8") I get at the hardware store....

Yeah..that's what I was thinking. I'm waiting for a mate of mine that owned it to contact me...we'll see.
Haven't been out again yet (just finishing up work for christmas) but I'll take it out christmas morning and test it.
Let's get it all working how it should and go play....fettling can come later.

Thanks for posting....Straight forward smiley would be good eh? :D

Does anyone know what the 4 letters/numbers mean on the right side of the carb? (brake side)

The bike is street legal but the PO put a dirt flat slide carb on it. Never specified the origins though. No other identification or part numbers just:

After looking at pics and such, it seems to be a TM33 but still can't get a deffinate. The carb does say Mikuni corp on it.

The code is the carb ID - I can't tell you what that carb is but all of the TM33s and BST33s used on DRs had a code 14xx - I think the TM33s were always 14D0, and the BSTs had various XX's depending on the jetting and the country.

Ahh yes a 91. That would be a kick start with manual decomp.

Most of the time one rarely uses the year code to discribe their DR. S for street. E for Electric start. Nothing or DIRT for dirt.

The only time I think it is worth while to list the year code is if you have a 99 S. Cause you'd be riding yourself someDR350 "SEX"!!!

    So its a toss up.
Not too worried about it but with the carb leaking while turned off and irratic idle, id like to know what im about to tear in to.

Carb leaking while off is likely the float or needle seat....which could also cause the idle issue.....

    The rest of the fleet is an '05 Yamaha XT225, '99 KX250, '00 RM250 and there's a little "80 XR80 on the bike lift getting a restoration.

I read something about the swing arm on these bikes flexing quite a bit, can anyone give me the lo-down on this? I was wondering about swapping one with my 94 dr650.

Gosh, if they're so great and hard to find I should prolly hang on to them! :evil

But if I ever find some polished aluminum ones to match the set on my RM I might be willing to swap these
for some other tid-bit of DR goodness!!!
