95 DR350.. is it electric or kick start? how much would it be worth in good shape?
It could be either. If you had the full model name we'd know:) It is eithe ra DR350R (off road model, kick start) or a DR350S (street model, kick start) or DR350SE (street model, e-start). I'm pretty sure the SE replaced the S before 1995 though. What its worth depends on how much its worth to you:) I've seen prices from $1500-$3k for clean SE's.
I just got a 99 DR350 from a member here and took it out for a spin last weekend. I am very excited about this bike, 6 spd trans is great.
Have you guys installed fat bars? What hardware are you using?
What size rear tires are you running for D606 or the like?
Im using 7/8" Renthall bars, to use braceless bars you`ll just need to istall larger clamps
Tyres front 90/90 x 21 or 2.75 / 3.00 x 21 Rear 120 /90 x 18 or 4.00 x 18
Can anyone point me to a thread that details how to service the rear shock on my 94 dr350se? I am looking to replace the shock oil and have the nitrogen re-changed.
p.s for those of you on the maximum-suzuki and thumpertalk forums sorry for the cross posting, I am just hoping to get as much feedback as possible.
The shop manual says the shock has 142 psi of pressure but it does not show the internals. This Link is a cool rebuild of a KLR that someone else posted first. This Link is a street bike rebuilt but really good pictures.

So I am currently running Kenda 270's before that Kenda 760's. I am looking to going back to a more dirt oriented tire. I could get another set of Kenda 760's but am also looking at the Dunlop D606's.
So what I am wondering is what size rear tires are you running?
When I was running 760's it was 110/18 tire, I am wondering if I should go to a 120/18? Will it fit the rear rim and clear the swing arm? I can't see any reason why not but would like to hear from someone who is using a tire this size.
Any other tire recommendations would be welcome, they need to be DOT approved and good in wet conditions. Not full on mud but the trails I ride tend to hold their water until at least mid July and with all the snow we have this winter I don't see the up coming riding season being a dry one.
I went to work on the bike this weekend, first task was to replace the swing-arm with one I bought off ebay. The original had a serious wear mark from the kick stand, caused by PO, not me. I wasn't too concerned about the structural integrity of the swing-arm but I found a used one for 30$ so I figured why not. I am planning on tackling the clutch next. New clutch kit and milling down the clutch basket, hoping to cure the dreaded hard to find neutral problem. More pics to come in the following weeks.
hey john, I run kenda trackmasters and they ROCK in the wet stuff and off-road in general. Their road manners aren't great, but i've had them up to 70 on the highway :eek1 and survived
I'm not sure on the size off hand, but i'm pretty sure I've got a 120 (maybe even a 130) you won't have any rubbing issues.
I have a 908 on mine and it is 140+80+18 .
Picked it up today...has broken engine case...only 7200miles on the bike...street legal kick start.
I'm thinking of getting a street legal DR350 and was wondering what kinda miles you guys are getting before a rebuild is needed. I want to find a low $$ one that I can ride the bejeebus out of to save gas.
What should I be paying for a Battery for my '99 DR 350 SE. Best I can do in my area is $72 & two week delivery from Sears....
Bike bandit 50 bucks they list two. They're quick and have lots of OEM parts too..
Thanks for the replies on the tires, I ordered up a set of Kendra 760's, 120/18 for the rear.
I can't speak from personal experience on the question of long term millage but from what I have read 50,000 km's is do-able. Although buying a bike to save money on gas only works if you don't ride it for fun on the week-ends... good luck with that
I've got a 99 with 26k on it. put 10k on it last year on 2 longer trips. from what I read on different forums I went ahead and put a cam chain in, but it still had quite a few miles before it really needed it. this summer I'm planning on a couple of trips that should add about another 15k. I expect at least 50k out of it before anything major. on trips I ride pretty easy and average 70mpg. around town it gets somewhere between 55 and 60.
the local batteriesplus store has a replacement for 50 bucks. it's an agm battery under the brand name "xtreme". haven't tried one yet as my battery is still good. same price as bb but you save the shipping costs.
I posted a WTB ad in Flea Market for a OEM muffler for a DR350/250, but so far have received no repiles. So I am hoping someone that commonly reads this thread might have a OEM muffler in decent shape they might want to sell.
I am in the process of fixing up a recent purchase of a 1991 DR250S, and I hope to make less noise by returning to OEM equipment.

That's exactly what I did. I got it from a guy in the flea market. But I sent it to Kientech for the larger tip. It turned out very well.

I sure this has been asked many times before, but did the exhaust outlet modification by Keintech increase the noise level very much? I have plenty of experience with most of the aftermarket mufflers avaialble, and I would definietely prefer to go the same route you followed.
