    ken sean mirrors cut-down & tucked in. not the best window, but dont buzz any more.
    wide ebay pegs
    walmart seat pad
    no instrumentation

    next:
    R1 throttle. had a homebuilt quick-twist, but it was too abrupt.
    peg rest relocation project on-hold until the seat gets sorted.
    eventually a used GPS instrument.

    How much taller are the cr bend (or what ever brand) bars compared to the factory, just want to get a idea if a set of risers would be needed with them.

    Hi all,

    So I'm having a hell of a time wiring up the lights for the Trailtech Vapor dashboard. I managed to wire the High Beam properly, but am struggling with the Neutral and Turn Signal lights. Anyone have a handy diagram or wire colour-matching tips to pass along? Hope I'm not abusing this thread too much by actually posing this question. I've tried searching through the massive DR thread, but haven't managed to find the relevant info.

    I put on some Pro-Taper bar mounts to keep the stock rubber mounts,I used long enough bolts so I can put a stack of thick washers under them to raise the bars some,I had a set of KTM bars around so I use those.
    For the pegs I use the cheap ebay heavy metal lowering settup,moves pegs back over an inch and down an inch and half I think,makes the front end come up easier when Im standing and way easier on my beat up legs and knees when cruising down the hiway.
    The stock clutch cable still seems fine at 26,000 miles,amazing what a little lube and a dab of grease on the ends will do,I do have the choke kit that has the pull rod right on the carb,very hard to get at but frees up room on the handlebars.

    Those of you who have the ebay DR pegs,they fit ok? The set I put on my DRZe were a poor fit and the spring barely can be crammed in and doesnt fit right.

    I bought the el-cheapo pegs at the beginning of last summer... No problem with the fit. Nice to have the larger pegs underfoot. Easy upgrade, but they are starting to rust a bit, so I'll throw a coat of paint on them in the near future...

    I got some aluminium and secured it to the stock bars. Not pretty but very effective :clap .

    nice work on that chart.

    i'm using a pro taper SE atv mid and see i'm getting just under 3" of height above stock w/ same width and a little more pullback. works with oem cables (re-routing some) and the pullback is very comfortable on the wrists. i was on a bike with atv hi and the pullback was not as comfortable on my wrists. much cheaper adding this bar vrs another shorter alum. and then paying for risers too.

    however, many find the cr-hi bend & pullback as THE ideal bend for more agressive off-road riding (atv mid height and pullback is more ideal for touring, but i do ride agressively off-road & stand alot).

    Looking at the chart and info that I've found, I'm looking to go with some black pro taper countours in kx hi with pro taper mounts and turn signal relocater. I understand the mounts will give you another 5/8" height. cant wait! :1drink

    Looks nice! Can you get a power port into the lower holes in the HDB Adv top clamp? If so, that may be something I'd like to purchase as well. Also, it would be nice if you could post a better image (not trying to be a dick), I'd like to see more detail. Thanks.

    Thanks! Yeah, the lower holes are sized to hold Powerlet plugs. I may install a couple, but would need to make some chnages to my accessories, as I am set up for standard auto cig lighter plugs right now. I will try and get a few better pics when I finalize my ignition key switch placement and finish my windscreen/HID setup installs. Stay tuned....

    I am new to the DR650 world. I recently purchased a nicely farkled 2007 model. I have been working over the last month to improve the dash and controls.
    I have added:
    Oxford heated grips
    Tusk Fat Bars with the Tusk bar adapters
    Cycra hand guards with the side mounts that attach to the top triple clamp.
    Small windscreen I made from 1/8" Lexan.
    Tech Mount for my Garmin GPS

    The PO had made a nice bracket for mounting switches ect. I cut out an opening and moved the indicator lights here. I used some carbon fiber looking tape over the surface to cover up the scratches in the metal surface.

    I made another mounting plate from 1/8 aluminum and located it over the top of the handle bar mounts with zip ties for the Oxford controller.

    I made the windscreen with 3 mounting positions. I have a stock VStrom windshield which will also mount in the same holes.
    I used some door edge trim to from Auto Zone to cover up my crappy jig saw work.

    Next I would like to add a toggle switch for turning off the headlight, a small digital clock and maybe some small LED driving lights.

    Highway Dirtbikes makes an awesome replacement starter/kill switch that is way more durable and half the price of the OEM switch. You will need a momentary switch for the starter and an ON/OFF switch for the kill switch. Installation is as simple as removing the old switch and cutting the wires at the switch, wiring in the new switches, and mounting it to the handle bars, 15 minutes to complete.
