Drop in Master Clutch Cylinder replacement ?

    Hello,

    i have a master cylinder that leaks (went through 2 rebuild kits so far). Is there another option for a drop-in replacement besides a new KTM Master Cylinder ? I'll probably get the OEM one but I'm guessing that it will fail also at some point ... so... maybe there are better options out there.

    An alternative would be to get the current MC bore re-sleeved but... i haven't been able to locate someone that's willing to do that. If you have any suggestions, please pipe in.

    It is a magura master. So if you can find someone that sells magura parts to the public you might be able to get it a bit cheaper. It is the 10.5mm if I remember correctly. But have a look at the microfiche. I think KTMtwins have the microfiche online.

    I've read a couple of threads and apparently it doesn't clear the left hand switch pod. I could get one but i would have to replace the standard switch pod also... i think (it might have been the Magura 9.5mm mc though).

    Edit: According to this from this thread, the 10.5 one doesn't clear it either and i'd be losing the clutch safety switch also (I tend to like safety switches on bikes. Sometimes I'm not in the "zone" and having one of them go off tends to yank me back to reality and focus).

    I guess re-sleeving the bore of the original one with a harder jacket might be the best way to approach this.

    They both operate. The first one I went down to 9.0mm dia and installed it on a friend's bike. After a year he has some clutch dragging. I did the second one with 9.5mm dia. I have no dragging and believe it is not the reason the clutch drags. I also enjoy a lighter clutch pull.
    So I would recommend resleeving.
