Paving of US Highway One in Big Coppitt left an unmarked step and the Bonneville went down when I unwittingly changed lanes. $1000 in damage, repaired in two weeks thanks to the late Pure Triumph dealer formerly in Fort Lauderdale. I went down at 45mph, had some help getting the bike back up and rode 20 miles home.

Nowadays I prefer to ride with kevlar pants to protect my legs. Happily my mesh jacket and leather gloves worked as intended. My helmet never touched the ground.

Here's mine napping the other day. This was one of the easier roads I was on. I was taking in the sites and drifted into the center 2" high packed snow and ice. The front wheel didn't want to climb up on it so it kicked out instead! :lol3

This hill was a lot steeper than it looks, the ruts were nasty, and it hurt like f**k. We camped the night at the bottom of the hill with a bottle of scotch for the pain. Next morning Kate rode back to the hardtop in first gear (couldn't use the gear lever) then we pillioned to the nearest hospital two hours away.
