The rack system looks awesome. I just picked up an '07 E model and your racks were highly recommended. I originally thought I was going to need a whole new subframe to carry gear. I'm sorry I don't have anything to add, I just wanted to subscribe to keep track of updates and possible sales. I'll probably order mine in about a month.

PhiSig1071, Thanks for the accolades and for checking out my E thread! I look forward to helping you when you're ready.

I also offer some options for the side racks. I can weld plates in that allow the attachment of RotopaX Pack Mounts. I can also add pre-drilled tabs for attaching Givi Luggage hardware. If you need custom work done, I do that too. http://www.moto-racks.com/Products4.html

I am going to be offering packages that will include our racks with the Nelson_Rigg Adventure Dry Saddlebags (Holds 27.53 Liters per side) and the Adventure Dry Bag Duffel. They're made from 24 oz. electrically heat welded waterproof tarpaulin PVC and are a great deal. Look for it on my website within the next week. http://www.nelsonrigg.com/store/category.aspx?cid=100

I will offer the bags alone too.

    Survivor Edition:

    * Adventure Dry Saddlebags (Pair) - $116.95 shipping included
    * Adventure Dry Bag Duffel 40 liter - $61.95 plus shipping
    * Adventure Dry Bag Duffel 71.5 liter - $79.95 plus shipping

    Thanks, Tom

I'm not sure I'll ever use a rotopax, but do you think there's an advantage to having the mounting plates for extra strength/stiffness on the side racks?

Good prices on those bags too.

If you don't need to put a RotopaX on there, then the plates would be a waste of money. The racks are strong as heck as is.

Thanks, I'm intent on keeping the Nelson-Rigg bags priced competitively!

I custom make these to order. These are popular with hard core adventure rally riders in Australia and the USA. I supply Nelson-Rigg Adventure Dry Bags too.

    Order yours here: http://www.moto-racks.com/Products4.html

I know this is a thread dedicated to the 400E racks but I have a question regarding the side rack on a "S" model.

I want to be able to ride 2 up with my kid and it looks like the moto-racks side rack sits fairly far forward on the bike. Will passenger legs clear the Nelson-Rigg bags on the moto-rack when using the passenger pegs?

Thanks for any insight you might be able to share.

    Hi Mklaz,

Thanks for inquiring about our racks! I own a DRZ-S and I have some Adventure Dry Bags that are loaded that I can put on to check. I'll let you know within a day or two.

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Mklaz,

Here are a few photo's I took today to give you a better idea of how much room there is for feet on the passenger pegs. My boots did not hit the bags, but with my big feet, I was able to use a little more than half of the peg before my boots hit the tubes. A smaller foot would do better. The ends of the pegs have a lip that stuck well to the sole of my work boots.

I hope this helps, and let me know if you need more info.

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Well crap.

I just bought a DRZ400 *E* and really want to put soft panniers on it. No side racks available as far as I can tell.

    Hi CODan,

I still make the "E" racks for those who need them. Our "E" top rack is needed to help support the side racks, so you would need to buy both top and side racks. I'll get back to you with a price when I get back to the office.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    CODan,

Sorry I'm so late getting back to you! Got snagged when I got to the office, and then promptly forgot.
The complete package including the Cross Brace is $454.00 and it's currently taking 3 weeks to make them. If you want to order, shoot me an email or give us a call.

P.S. If you order Wolfman Bags, I will give you a discount on the racks.

    Thanks,

    Tom
