    Howdy mLRGG,

Yup, that's what I figured, that's one road rippin piece of machinery, you should be able to humble a lot of squids on sport bikes that don't know how to ride them but IMHO you will find it lacking as a dual sport bike.

The gearing, suspension and tires are all wrong for serious dual sport use. Swapping sprockets can fix the gearing, riding a bit slower in the rough stuff will be ok with the suspension but the tires and wheels are just all wrong.

If you picked up a spare set of wheels and mounted some knobbies on them that would work. I don't know how much of a hassle swapping wheels would be, it might involve swapping brake rotors at the same time. Then again maybe they make a knobby tire that will fit your wheels.

I really don't know that much about the DRZ400SM. Someone who knows what their talking about please jump in here before I make a fool out of myself :deal

    Mr Cob...

Your input is helpful... and when my ADVrider friend who is near me gets back from his weekend ADVride in BC, I know he will definately put his 2cents worth in and I will see the wheels spinning in getting me up to speed for the DUAL SPORT riding. He knows the type of bike I got and is excited to see it, so he can liberally give me ideas and helps to impove the bikes performance, and mine.

Once again this is helpful and I am honored you got back to me so quickly.

    From His hands I ride...
    mLadyRider :)~
