    OK I have swallowed my pride, how does one go about mounting a chain slider on a 78 DT250? Purchased this bike without one. On the Microfiche it looks like there should be a small mounting bracket on the bottomside of the swingarm, mine doesnt have one. Nothing looks broken, swingarms look the same, oddly though my zerk fitting is on the bottom, microfiche shows it on the top. Anybody got pics of one mounted?

    If you don't get and answer today, send me a pm with your emial address. I will email you pictures of my wife's 1978 DT250 from similar angles. I don't use a hosting site so I can't just post the pictures.

    I have the photos but you are not going to like them! Your swingarm is different then mine...that bracket shown that holds the tensioner is welded to the swingarm. Also, the diagram shows the tensioner upside down, it mounts between the bracket.

    By the way, you bike looks like a 77, not a 78. Check the Yamaha site and see if the 77 had a different setup.

    PM me your email if you want the pictures.

    Mudgepondexpress is on to it , you have a '77 D.
    Blue = '77
    Silver = '78

    See that hole in the frame between the swing arm and chain ?... put the pivot for the tensioner through that.
