Hey can anyone recommend some good dual sport profile settings for the Garmin Oregon 450 (e.g., things like orientation = track up, zoom level, menu setups, etc.)? This is for off-road or trail riding when routing on roads is not possible, and I may be using a track for navigating.

I might have another dual sport profile for when on routable roads, but I would think would be the same as the Automotive profile.

    Thanks.

Very few if any of my Dual Sport customers use Oregon but I think it is similar to new 78 but without buttons.

You may want to review the Dual Sport setup rcomended for 78 on my web site DualSportWest.com

I just bought an Oregon 450 last week, the price is great. I really like having profile. For hunting I have battery saver mode on, for 4 wheeling, with power supply it is off. Move some of the icons around too, nothing much.

I am not sure if I trust the mount I got from GPScity for using on a bike though.

I haven't used it yet, but like the waypoint averaging feature, for certain spots,, like hunting spots.

I am having trouble getting mine to use dirt trails, instead it just goes in a straight line. I have tried the different settings, automotive, motorcycle, ect.

Zerk- Yep, you can't follow trails in the same manner you can follow roads using routes. Better stated, it is not possible to navigate with trails.
