The 4 of us will be there Friday. We are trailering in each day from Willcox to the ranch. We are not campers. XSkydiver is taking us out on our Dizzers and we plan to meet him at the ranch and also park there.Hope there is someplace to park 32 ft of truck and trailer:eek1.I am going to assume that there will be some form of donation box for all the hard work for the organizers.
there will be plenty of room for trailer queen rigs
there will be donation jar for sure for, i think, raven.
i think there is a 20% upcharge for TQ's
bump for this event !!
it's a good one and the weather is gonna be perfect....
about the 20% surcharge for TQ's....
well........i guess i was just kidin'....
if it'll help...
Folks are rolling in and there are already plans for a run to Jackson Cabin tomorrow for the early bird group.
There's always room to park so don't be shy about trailering in as many bikes as you want!
A big shout out for the gorgeous weather..... of course we'll have to change the Desert Daze slogan from "if it ain't snowin', we ain't goin'" but I don't think anyone will complain too much!
Yes, as always, there's a hungry kitty and some door prizes but we all know it's really about the riding.
Looking forward to seeing everyone as they trickle in.
Wow, some beautiful weather today!!!!!
Some folks headed up to Jackson Cabin while others hit the border and still others surveyed the Cochise Stronghold. What an awesome day to go riding!
Looking forward to hot dogs and camp fires tonight and more fantastic weather tomorrow.
If you're within a day's ride, get to the Triangle T and enjoy the fun!
Raven, thanks for all the work you put into this event. Weather was great this year. We even hit the St Pattys day parade in Portal just as it was starting!
Triangle T, one group getting ready for Sat ride
Camping at Triangle T
Heading up the Chirichauas
On top of Onion Saddle
Portal, the Yosemite of AZ
I want to thank XSkydiver for his great hospitality. It is some beautiful territory. We did 322 miles of riding in 2 days generally in groups of 6 riders. Great spots included the Tangue rd to the Safford powerline run and the Klondike rd on Saturday. On Sunday it got a lot more technical as there was 2 track and gravel combinations. Then up the Mid-March rd to the petroglyphs at Castle Rock. Great pipelines and powerlines heading home were just an up/down blast.XSkdiver can really herd that big ol KTM 950 around very well and knows the area and history. If you get a chance to ride with him do so. Sorry, I guess no one really took pictures..........
Yep, having so much fun riding, didn't even stop for photos!!!!!
A number of folks have inquired about T-shirts.
To make it as easy as possible on myself, I set up a CafePress site for ordering "after the event" shirts.
Shirts are LONG SLEEVE.
Unfortunately, CafePress has a fairly limited number of color choices (despite stating there are more)
so you have a choice of BLACK or WHITE for color.
Thanks again to everyone for supporting the event!
Ravenranger, sorry we never got to meet you. we nearly got in at dark on saturday. Then everyone was ready for a shower and we had an injured guy so we just shot back to Willcox. The biggest regret of the weekend was that we did not really get to socialize with our AZ neighbors and swap lies about how fast we are. We did ride with AZ peeps on both days and they were great riders and fun sorts. Nice meeting you all.
No one has any pictures from their ride:eek1? Let's see them. My NM buds want to see what you saw not just read about it.
here's pics of our adventures, the second day which was supposed to be the long ride we ended up getting a flat and driving out and just headed back home. Despite being somewhat of a flop it was still a fun trip, there's always next time for riding
And just for the record, a 21 inch tube does not work in an 18 inch rear in a pinch, it goes flat a few miles later
Here's the link to the rest of the album:
Yep was curious and interested in maybe heading down there next year for the event.
I suppose the ride was so boring nobody took pics , right?
Great trip! Thanks for the invite RedEye. Put about 1500 miles on the little engine that could all totaled. Chopped up my ride back to SoCal into three days. Next year definitly do a bit more dirt exploring. Great place very comfortable
Head'n to Payson
Motel last night head'n home with beautiful Az sunset

Found out about this too late to join in last year. Planning on being
there this year, tho!
Is this gonna happen this year? I dig this cowboy ranch!
