Almost done with the route planning, just gotta ride it to collect the turn-by-turn mileage.
We are planning to have route sheets available.

Be aware that the closest gas station to the camp is 18 miles away. I will have a vehicle there if we need to haul supplies.
There will be a gas stop fairly early along the route, so small tank guys shouldn't have any problem.

Drive the route yesterday, 55 miles, lunch, then 62 miles. Found a couple of really fun dirt roads I had never been on.
Camping is $5 per night, btw.

I bought a one person tent the other night at Dicks.
It was $90, Koppen Lokal is the name. It's pretty roomy, weighs like 2lbs and sets up super easy.

I can't find any reviews on it but it seems pretty decent, very light although quite thin. The stitches on the seams seem to be pretty decent, I don't see why it wont be good for light occasional use.

I think I am going to take my WR250R instead of the Tiger, looking at past events I think wrestling around the Tiger with its street biased tires might be the definition of anti-fun!

Headed down to pre-ride the route tomorrow morning. Anybody wants to tag along, just be at the Love's truck stop in Falkville at 9am.

Alrighty...me and Kaleb rode the entire route, made a couple of changes along the way. I have turn by turn directions, much like a roll chart, if anybody wants the files ahead of time, just let me know.

Man you guys definitely don't sleep in. The daughter and I rode the hog into Brushey around 1030 this a.m. And the only evidence anybody had been there was a couple of trash bags. We did meet a couple of cheap bastids on a klr and maybe a diavel? I had a good sat morning with Tim on the street ride portion.

    I had a great time!

    :thumb

Thanks to Brian and Caleb for setting the route, leading the ride and to Brian's wife (who deserves sainthood for putting up with him ) for fixxing breakfast Saturday morning and delivering it to us.

I'm still picking dust out of my nose and ears. I couldn't believe how much sludge there was in the bottom of the barrel when I rinsed out my mesh riding gear :huh

Oh, and that's to Debandi for marking that sandtrap with his bike so the rest of us could avoid it :D
