I may have missed it, but now that you had some frustration with google, is there a way to get the app as I can't seem to find it on the app store?

If it's pulled from the Store, and I upgrade phones, does that mean I can't reinstall it? Last phone upgrade the app automatically installed on the new phone.

Put es file explorer app on old phone and on new phone

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
Back up app in es file explorer on old phone and use computer and appropriate cable to move it to new phone
then restore the app on from es file explorer.on new phone

I'm not sure if the maps will come over but it is worth a try.

This is also a work around "Amazon's" store to get apps on Kindles if they aren't available from amazon if you can get the apk file one way or the other.

The maps can be copied from the old phone as well. The tracks from DSM can be downloaded the normal way as that part of the website is unaffected by Google's "update".

    Hey craftycoder,

I was hoping to avoid having to bother you about this, it's a relatively minor issue, and I have my own workaround, but I am having problems getting any of the vector renderers to do anything beyond the normal color scheme. Using OSM maps, the back roads I'm often on are white, as is the background of the screen, making it difficult to see the road I'm on. The built in renderers all produce the same output. I've downloaded some .xml files from an OSMand discussion that are high-viz, but they too produce the same results.

Any ideas? For now, I'm using night mode, and I think that'll work fine, but I'd love to be able to tweak colors to exactly what I want.

    Thanks!

I would say just email it to yourself, or have someone email it to you, but then I remembered this is a paid (well worth it!) Application...and I don't want to be negative or step on toes.

It would be a good idea to backup your applications with titanium backup, or something.

    Craftycoder,

I am still kind of playing around and trying to learn more about using DSM. It would help myself and others if you had an index with how to instructions so that a DSM noob like me can just go to the pertinent section vs. trying to read hundreds of posts in advrider.

Specifically, can you tell me how to record tracks and then follow the same tracks back to the starting point- reverse track?

This is how I think I start recording my tracks on an off road ride:

Go to Settings, Monitoring & and ensure "Save Tracks to GPX" is enabled and hit "Save Current Track" which I believe will start the recording.

My next question is how do I reverse the track to follow it back to the starting point using the same tracks back?

I will be riding in the upcoming Broxton DS Ride next weekend and I wanted to use the DSM.

    Thanks.

    Jon

It is offline until CC can get the website fixed. Google removed the API he was using to edit maps.
