    I would go for the warranty, personally I wouldn't waste a penny on termi or any other after market exhaust.

    And that makes three of us. Plus it's your own new bike to bring home (break in) exactly as you please. Have them check the coolant before you ride out the door and insist it be changed if it hasn't been already. Also get them to put on the front hugger if they haven't done that (assuming you want the front hugger on). It's amazingly hard to do.

    On the fender, if you remove the screws holding the front fender on, it will allow enough slack in the brake lines to fit the rear fender on, then remount the front fender. Impossible to do it without removing the fender mount screws, as the brake line is just too snug to fit in the groove and get to the mounting screws which are behind the brake line.

    New or second hand bike?
    Personally I'd go for the new one. Mine is about to enter it's 3rd year and when the Ducati warranty runs out in April 14 I'll get rid of it and find a standard one without the electronic suspension.
    It's a worry, all these damned electronics on modern bikes.

    Thanks, never thought of that. I have no intention at this point of removing (or replacing) the front hugger, but if I ever do, I'll remember the tip. It didn't occur to me at the time.

    Meanwhile, I'd still recommend looking into the coolant swap on any left over being considered for purchase. Dealers will surely know about it, but it's something they could honestly overlook in the delivery process.

    I agree with others in the Termi. I'd spend that money on the new one with the warranty. I bought the 5 year extended on my 2011 for about the same money and as my bike approaches the 2 year mark I am glad I did that because I am keeping it. I have had zero problems except the brake and coolant recalls which were handled with no issue by Ducati.
    I am avery happy owner.

    So why the anti Termi sediment from this bunch? What did they do to you? I have them on the monster the PO put them on so I didn’t have to pay for them so to speak, love the sound better than the Farracci’s on the Cagiva so what gives?

    Speaking only for myself:

    If I owned a Multi 12 I'd use the stock exhaust. I have a couple of bikes that I use for touring, commuting, and fun -- those have the stock, quiet exhaust on them. On other bikes, that are really restricted to use for fun, I have aftermarket exhausts.

    Just so you don't think I'm anti-Termi, my 1098 has the full 70mm race system on it. Sounds beastly. Love the noise, for the first 30 minutes. :wink:

    I'll jump on the no termi bandwagon - the stock exhaust looks better and the bike hardly needs more power, it's a lot of cash to spend to drop a little weight and add a little power.

    When I bought mine, the previous owner had the thing running w/o the DB killer installed. It was embarrassing to ride it around in his neighborhood.

    I don't think it's anti Termi sentiment so much as a matter of rational cost analysis. There are those, myself included, who feel there better ways to spend the money. By the time you're done mounting it and getting it set up, assuming you have a dealer do it, you are in for the better part of 3 large, and that's probably without the desirable dyno runs and reflash, which the experienced (owners) here often suggest is the only truly effective path . That's a lot of tires, gas and accessories for other uses. Or a comprehensive extended warranty. What will hold more value down the road for you?

    The full Termi exhaust was the best thing I did for this bike. Thing sounds awesome and its not too loud, not loud enough actually.

    Whats the deal with all the talk about cost and economics?? It not an investment its a motorcycle! Must everything measure up to what Suze Orman thinks I should be doing with my cash? Even my Ducati motorcycle? This is exhausting.
