With same old air cooled clanker. Maybe 70 hp.
They better get some new designers if they are going to start ripping off Triumph Tiger
I believe I saw that bike shown at the last Milan show? Or perhaps as a prototype shown somewhere? But it's the same pic, from at least six months ago. My Italian is not good but I'm assuming this bike is now more likely to be a reality?
Good move by Ducati, IMO. The front end was always the Butt end of this other wise beautiful bike.
That article is over 6 months old... I think that is just a pretty photoshop, especially considering the sitings of the tall, upright desmoquattro-powered test mule that were spotted.
Apparently "Knowledge is Horsepower" needs updating.
The 1100 motor (in the current form of the Multistrada) puts out 95 hp (claimed) at the crank, most magazine dynos show about 84 at the rear wheel.
I knew I was gonna get that wrong
Spy photos of Strada Aperta
Looks like a waterpumper to me.
Looks like a Cagiva Gran Canyon to me.
Looks way better than the current multi. Good move.
that front fairing is way too similar to the Triumph Tiger. I think the current MTS looks way better, and more individual. This is SO BORING.
They've covered the 999 replacement admirably, the new Streetfighter is easily the pinnacle of the naked sportbike hooligan genre and to those well heeled enough to afford it, the Strada is a "1098 on stilts" and should make a 1050 Tiger feel like a restricted learners bike. Yeah, it'll get some press...
I thought the next one is supposed to be water-cooled, no?
The photo sure looks like an aircooled bike, so perhaps "1098 on stilts" is not the best analogy
The dated photos that started this thread are not what I'm commenting on, the more recent spy shots of the factory tester on the upcoming 1098 based hyper tourer, is the duck that's going to hit market probably by 2010...
Will there be restyled air-cooled variants of the current Multistrada, yes and it'll probably be based off the upcoming 1098 on stilts... The computer generated pictures and MCN's spy shots are both extremely dated, but one's been fleshed out and is production ready.
Go Ducati !!!
now that's a good lookin' bike! They have my blessing!
I like the look especially compared with the old Strada. I think I would opt for a Buell Uly first though.
Looks like an Italian FZ6 to me....
