Well its been a while since i posted a ride report on here, and the next bit of my trip is about to start, the thing with riding around the world on a bike is that you have to get on with it at some stage, to actually do it ,but things get in the way so the madness is about to start, i have bought a ticket to Johannesburg and bought a set of panniers of wild dog forum ,oh yeah and a GPS and a rain suit ,just working on the bike ,looked at a pretty cool travel ready 81 XT500 online and thought about it, but it might end in tears, so going with another KLR me thinks ,so any way stay tuned ,just have to remember how to use smugmug ,oh and i apologise in advance about ,spelling, grammar and smart ass comments

i bought a KLR (of course) from a chap named Errol from the wild dog forum,he was kind enough to pick me up from the airport ,i didnt really know where he lived ,turns out it is bethlehem ,so i have a holy start to this trip ,mind you it's bethlehem in south africa not the Jesus place, and the other thing is it was 250 km trip ,how is that for keen to unload his bike,na just joking Errol ,its just the hospitality over here, Errol has a workshop so i make myself at home for a week and his trusty KLR now looks like this

Looking forward to this report. Love your Zebra! I'll try and sneak a pic of mine in the back garden when he's not looking but he gets very agitated when he sees me with a camera and i have to feed him beer to calm him down :D

i was due to ride up to joburg to get some gear and head off ,but it was pissing it down this morning and f-ing freezing , seeing the rain gear i was buying was 250 km away and it was raining, that is a good reason to stay put ,anyways, modded the panniers with a bit of a canyon cut ,so when they land on me it those nasty pointy corners wont poke me quite as badly

Haven't been in Lesotho since 1978 - a great place to search for someone. Have no idea what Internet is like there in 2013, or cell service. It's concerning not to have heard from him. If you get this investigate the road to Semongkong, Dave. It might have changed a lot but was a very interesting part of Lesotho. Will follow!

Nancy and Errol seeing me off into the sunset ,well morning anyways
I asked Errol about the lions in Botswana and if i break down near a bunch of them, his reply was just stand on the other side of your bike ,oh and don't run ,they might eat you, with that thought, I was off
