    Hi,

I'd like to start coming out to these GTG's. Unfortunately, I am never able to ride into work since I work out of a service truck. I would still like to meet my fellow ADVer's and hang out for a while.

Is this always at AGP at noon, every Wednesday?

    Thanks! :freaky

Wow. I missed that. I'm only a few miles from there. This may be doable on occasion.

great food but no ambience like the back deck at AGP...sitting adjacent to a parking lot full of cars with people coming and going...lots of traffic and even car exhaust :puke1...I've only been there once so that was my 1st impression....lyou have to watch how much you put on your plate @ $8.60/pound its easy to go over...all the foods were excellent and it was hard to resist temptation to take a little of everything you see and theres alot of different entree's to choose from....next thing i know its over 13 bucks with a drink whoa there...

Yeah, there's one within walking distance of the house and I made that mistake once. It was ~$15 for a plate of pretty okay food. :D

I eat there usually 2x week. Having learned the pricing, with drink I am usually around 7 bucks.

Ambiance could be better. Hard to find a place that has : good food, wide menu, quick service, easy access, outside seating without having to go through a wait person, and ambiance.

I made the mistake, twice, of trying the new buffet/salad bar at the Harris Teeter on Falls/Durant. First time it was me, my sister and my daughter. We made up three plates, mine being mostly a salad, my sister's being a salad, and my daughter had some cooked foods. I think I paid about $21 for it all, but wasn't paying full attention. I went back a couple weeks later for lunch one day and made a mixed plate, tried some different things, and that plate and a bottled soda cost me almost $16. Never again. There's just too many places to get GOOD food at lunch for a better price.

Everything looks like a go for me to be there tomorrow. And apologies to everyone, I may have accidentally reported this thread or one of the posts while I was trying to reply with my phone.

    Sorry.

    Yup.
There is parking right at the front door where the grocery karts are on the lot as there is an offset there. There is also parking at the other end of the parking isle in some offsets there.

    Cya there.

I gave up. When I got there the lot was completely full and annoyed drivers were circling looking for spots and blocking the path when they were stalking people heading to their cars to leave.

Bikes and scooters were parked in the grass, on the sidewalk, etc... When I went out into the surrounding neighborhoods, people were even parked on all the available side streets.

If I try this again, I'm showing up around 11:00 and planning a good 2+ hours for the whole thing. I don't know if this is typical for noon time or not but it doesn't make for a relaxing casual lunch meet. :dg

Nice to finally put some more names to faces from here.

Parking was quite challenging due to former President Jimmy Carter signing books at Quail Ridge.
