^ Looks like you all had a great ride yesterday. Great photos and look forward to some of the new GoPro footage of this ride. The "Hill"......let's hear about it.

It looks like I finally solved the pointing straight down issue when filming but I think I'm going to get a backup battery because I always seem to run out of juice half way through the rides. Because of it and the fact that I can't edit big videos due to my puny PC I only take short snips at a time. So sometimes (a lot of times) I forget I'm not running film through some of those cool section.

Case in point, that hill. :( Ricardo went down and the bike launched about 10 feet away from him down the trail. It was a little scary to see. Also scary was running straight in here.

:eek1 Also didn't capture that. :baldy More concerned were we with his foot being pinned under the bike while wearing non mx boots. I think Ricardo will go back to Bulldog Canyon now and see that as a piece of cake. :lol3 I'm sure it's the toughest riding he's ever tackled and he was a trooper. One time on the sand wash he face planted face first into the sand. It was spectacular and funny as heck if it weren't for the fact that at that point we were starting to tire and just wanted to head out.

I've got a short clip following him in his struggles through some of the sand sections and this was the easy stuff.

I've got a few more picks and about 5 videos I'm currently uploading.

That looks like a fun ride, have to join in one these days.

Anybody have some inside info into good bark busters or other for the XR650L? been picking flowers with handlebars lately.

    Thanks

I have the Highway Dirt Bike setup. If you get all the extras it can get expensive.

I see this is an active thread, I kept coming up with blank pages trying to search in "equipment".
I'm coming to Black Canyon City for a week of riding in March.
I'm from the north east so I'm not familiar with the terrain other than what I see in photos.
What do folks run for rear tires off road in Arizona?
I presently have on the bike a IRC Motocross M5B soft terrain tire or I could mount my new Pirelli MT43 trails tire.
    What do you recommend?
    Thanx in advance,
    Roger

A lot of the guys that do gnarlier single track type stuff here run trials tires. I run whatever is cheapest. :D

I like cheap tires too, I wound up buying the IRC on Craigslist, it was new but sitting in someones garage for a few years and now showing small cracks in the side wall after 200 miles of use.
This is a big trip and I can not cheap out so I'll go with a fresh trails tire.
    Thanx again for your response.

lots of rocks here. Most of the guys that have switched over to the trials tires have not looked back. Sorry that I can't recommend a specific type since I've never used one.

Most folks here use the MT43 when running trials tires. Its pretty much all I run on the rear of my bikes. They are bias ply and a little tougher than the other trials tires. They work great in the nasty ST out here. 6-7 lbs and you are good to go.

The Magenta track is what I wanted to ride yesterday. The green is what we rode. Maybe we need to get out there again. :deal

We were a long way from Butcher Jones where we bailed. :nod Glad we did. Might not have made it out. :lol3

Went out solo on Saturday heading from Florence towards San Manuel. These are the tracks I laid.

I started out planning to head straight down to Barkerville but I missed the turn and went all the way to Kearny (Green Track). I really enjoyed the ride.

Left Kearny and noticed I could head out through San Pedro to Barkerville (Yellow Track).

The red track was on the way back from Oracle to Florence.

    Great ride. Slippery roads.
