Yeah, it is still there.
Very cool Chuck. I'd like to join you on one of these rides someday.
Sounds good, I have a couple more rides I'm planning up there.
we just rode the 214 and were curious about the fire/bulldozer ect damage,,, looks like the snake ridge fire fizzled out at 214 on its own, we only saw one little teeny burned area and the trail was pristene.
Yeah, Casner mountain is no joke. Ya definitely "earn" the views once on top!
Looks like I'll be getting my Africa Twin earlier than I thought!
For anyone looking to dual sport and stretch the legs, Im going to head up to 4 peaks tomorrow morning on the KLR and hike Brown's Peak. Based on time, might return on the Apache trail.
Here is info on Browns Peak https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/arizona/browns-peak-via-browns-trail
Difficult hike that ends in a scree chute climb. But you can stop shy of that if not feeling fully motivated.
Let me know if you're interested. Happy riding this weekend.

PSA - the road up Humboldt peak is now super slab all the way up...
So, no nore bent rims.
Where is that?
It's off Seven Springs Rd not far down on the right once you get on the dirt.
Is it pavement or just graded? I can't tell.
I know it's blasphemy around here to say this but I would like a few more paved roads in the area. Especially twisty ones.
Well... at least not here...
Brand new pavement... it's short but pretty scenic once you get up to the golf ball radar
I'm thinking about heading up to the rim this weekend, does anyone have any singletrack recommendations up there? Either the rim or around Flagstaff... just not here in the valley.
Have you ridden Kelly Canyon?
Don't think so..
They have really good maps on the forest service website for it. nice cool riding up there.
I can send you some tracks of what I rode. It's a small loop but fun and CTR has cut more trail since I last rode it.
Youngs canyon double back loop--57 mil------Schultz Pyramid loop Ft. Valley Trailhead, 7200ft to 8400ft.-----See Horse Hat Connection loop-----Baja 100 loop starts off in the Mogollon at 89a & fr 535 through Sedona, ,Casner Mountain switchbacks, , Sycamore Canyon & Red rock wilderness.
All are on Google earth KMZ file Adventure routes----Coconino Nat Forest.
Any will be cooler than the Valley as they are all to the north
My trusty old torque wrench finally died... anyone know a Snap On rep to get a discount?
Maybe it's just me but I really do not enjoy the Kelly Canyon trails.
Maybe I haven't ridden them at a good time (i've ridden about 10 times) but everytime i've ridden the trails they have been super dusty.
The Shultz loop or Fort Valley trail is fun but pretty short.
