Did we just witness a good old fashioned Brucing?
It certainly appears that way ..
And an out of state brucing at that.
That's gotta hurt!! I've just gottin home and surveyed the damage. just under 200 miles on the stock dr seat with Easy on his wr 250 was a tough ride. Still doesn't compare to coming up from SC. 6 min.. owwwwwch.. Heh. Captain! Did you see a couple of Hooligans on dualsports up by the big fish in the middle of town when you came thru? Them was us.
Darn Lonewolf. The gentlemen we were talking to over by the river must have watched the Brucing unfold while we faced him in the opposite direction. He had no idea what he was seeing. Pretty epic!
Wow, that fish really has an upset stomach.
This town is called " Heart of the Inner Banks" Established in 1776 on land donated by Col. James Bonner. It is the First city named after a president of the United States. In 1862, the town was occupied by union troops. and was shelled by ships from the river. Take a ride down Water street and you will see a house with a cannon ball still imbedded in the wall facing the river. The house in the picture was built by St. Peter's Episcopal Church as a rectory in 1906. The owner/Innkeeper is a wonderful hostess from Honduras, Virginia Finnery. We stayed there in April in the Dudley room and had a great afternoon wine and cheese party on the front porch, walked down to the waterfront for dinner and sat on a park bench just soaking in the evening looking out on the river. This is one of my favorite places in the state to visit.
the captain must have pulled up just after we moved to the shade trees. Didn't see or hear anybody behind us. If he had been ridin a Harley we would have heard him coming a mile away! Reminds me of the old movie, cannon ball run. The jap team had the stealth car. The cops couldn't
hear it, or see it at night. Rugby needs one... We didn't
know we bruced him till we got home.
Me and the son were not more than a couple miles from there on our trip to place the ABC TAG.
No days off for a while. This would be a good time to get 2 with one trip. Get the Eastern and ABC and then grab the NC when you drop the ABC in Iredell county.
ARRRRGH! : It's all good! Just rolling thru town from Richmond back to Charleston and decided to stop. Bad cell phone service caused us to have to go into town and post from the McDonalds about 45mins later. Frustration with the pic posting process caused us to screw with the posting process SOOO long that between the time we checked the post and eventually posted the pic, we got Bruced. We were Just about to leave the hotel in Raleigh this morning to find a place to tag when i checked the post. I'm just glad I didn't ride an hour outta my way just to find a cool place to take a pic, only to find out that I had been bruced when I went to post it! Had a great time anyway! Y'all come down to Columbia in October for our SC State Campout.
Gotta say, I would have felt pretty bad if I would have jumped off the interstate and grabbed the tag, only to find out I had just beaten out 2 guys who had ridden 200 miles on dirt bikes to get it!
You are a good sport. Capt. Thanks. My butt is still sore. That was close. We were saved by technology. Smart phone with tappatalk. I was able to post the pic right there at the river. You actually were at the tag before us. Have we met on the ICW? I have fished most of the NC waters in an old 20 ft Grady White until fuel got so high I switched to motorcycles.
Way to go Capt. Way to redeem yourself.
Now where to?
Had a fun but wet ride to Washington. Cool town, have never been here by land. Couldn't resist the ride to New Holland for another grab. That's some crazy history surrounding that lake. That was a really great tag. Now I just need to convince the wife to extend the trip by a day and head towards the mountains. We have had a great time so far! Even as we hang out in Blackbeards bar awaiting the rain to subside.
FYI, new post is going to have to wait till the am due to the rain.
Sorry we couldn't be more creative, but we've taken a pretty good beating from the weather the last two days.
Me thinks this tag will sit for a while. Time to recruit some coastal taggers.
