I'll be at a nearby beach soon. I may be 4wheeling instead of 2wheeling though. Maybe I can rent a scooter and grab the tag. Can I tag it with my mtn bike?

T6D is closest to the tag (I think) let's all pitch in a few bucks for a tire and gas money.:clap

Yeah it's about 90 miles from me running the back roads, but I don't like the coast. If it is still there after I get the tire mounted up Carter and I might make another beach rescue run. :lol3

Tire will be ordered this weekend. (Nothing local in my size but knobbies. :huh) So it will be at least a week before I will get the tire on the bike. (5-7 days shipping)

Going to try the Shinko brand this time.

Good Luck with the Shinko. FishHunt has had very good luck with them. I tried them for the first time recently, for me it took a lot of fine tuning air pressure before I could get them to handle and feel stable. Now that I have the air pressure, shock and forks dialed in I might try them again, just because it was a nightmare dialing the bike in to the tires. I run the 009 ravens, I got around 5k out of first rear and I am on the second with 3k on it, the rear tire is holding up much better now. I have around 8k on front, center is like new but the sides are feathered and about to the wear indicators. Like I said now the bike and air is dialed in I probally will try them again. For $160 for both tires it is hard to not use them.
    Good Luck with them.

I have had good luck with the Shinko 009 Raven tire. I got over 8,000 miles out of my last rear tire. I don't think I ride as aggressive as King though. It looks like the front tire will be good for around 11k-12k.

I'm liking this tag grab a lot better than the NC Tag. The idea of riding through Charlotte just doesn't get me that excited. Anyone interested in going on a tag rescue from the Fayetteville area? Friday or Saturday, either works for me.

Since I ride in all types of weather I have been running the Dual Sport tires on the rear plus the tire size is the same as most dirt bikes making the selection for a good street tire hard to find. I was usung the Dunlop 501 on the rear of the Nighthawk and had good luck with it. They do not offer it in the Ascot tire sizes though. :huh

Looking at the Shinko 705 to replace the Kenda 761 that I have been running. Similar in thread and depth. I want something that will displace water well and the Ascot has been known to do light dirt duty on occasion. :evil
They do not offer the 705 in the size for the front either sooooo, I will have to find something else in the very near future.
I have a knobbie tire at the house I could spoon on the Ascot if I had to but I hate to do it twice. (and it is not a DOT tire either)

Just jumped on the DRZ after riding the S-10 every day for a month. It feels TINY. I might need to hit some dirt and get myself in trouble this weekend. I was leaning it over and tearing up the yard on the Raeford 200 meter grass track.

If you guys head for the TAG stop by the house and say hello.

    Luni,

Picked up a cheap (and if you know me if I say cheap it's really cheap:lol3) TTR225 for riding the dirt with the son. He found it at a neighbor's house sitting going to waste. Just need a battery for it now. To bad it isn't street legal.

I'm a no-go for this operation. Saturday marks the first anniversary that my wife and I have ever been on the same continent for. Looks like I'm taking the Jeep to the drive-in over in Albemarle.

So is anyone making a run for this TAG? :ear

Unless it is close enough to my house that I can sneek the dirt bike over to grab it :evil I'm out until the tire comes in for the Ascot. They are saying Friday as a delivery date but it is a holiday week so I'm thinking Sat at the eairliest.

I was thinking about this earlier today. No way I can get it right now though. Hell, I don't even think I could hit it next weekend.

    Hey RD,

Any word from the insurance company on the trailer?

Had another accident like yours last night on Raeford Rd but instead of the trailer taking the brunt the hitch ball broke and the tounge went through the trunk of the car. OUCH!! :eek1

Sorry I'm not allowed to take pictures of things when on duty. It is a fireing offense at the city. :huh Now my part time job with the other fire department is another story. Have some pic of a few bad wrecks.
