Road bike? I use to ride road bike. Now I'm too lazy.
But I did buy a new "touring bike" last May. Little more relaxed than my old road bike. Wheel base 10cm longer, fork angle less aggressive.

Thanks Beantop. I just ordered one of the bipass cables. Even if it turns out not to be the problem it sounds like a good thing to carry..just in case.

I made my own from my old defective controller (I think I used an SAE end on mine)
If you wanna try it this week end let me know.

Maybe send the link of what you bought. I have a feeling mine will be hanging around for a couple more years.
    1 year of warranty left.

I tried riding my Trek mountain bike to help rehab from the crash. Longest I was able to do was 7 miles. Lots of hills here. :D

you don't have to buy one you can make your own for about 5 bux....

Just goto Hermy's and ask for a used (bad) fuel pump controller, then go here

    http://www.motorcycleinfo.co.uk/ind...ric.nvxszdkebklxuaer&pageId=233223#fpc_bypass

basically just cut this plug (below) off the old controller and make any way to connect to a 12v source.
(I think the blue wire is negative and yellow is positve, But if not just reverse the polarity and try again)

here is an example. (nice duct tape werk)
