Beantop, did the dealer explain the starting ritual needed for the new battery?

Each start attempt warms the battery more and more.

Meatloaf, potatoes, and broccoli, with some cream of mushroom soup. Little experiment that turned out very tasty.

The other day I said wonderful shit about having weekends off and having a normal life. That shit ain't gonna happen now(too many details to talk about online). So watching you guys live and ride might be my only weekend entertainment this season. Please post lots of pictures. And maybe pretend I am there. I will send my brown shoes if that helps..

Beans GS 911 picked up a left side grip fault when we were trouble shooting the fuel pump. I had noticed I couldn't really feel it being on when using heavy gloves. Yesterday with the light glove on there were times it would warm up and then times it felt like it was off. It seems to be a pretty common thing on the F8 for left grip to quit working due to some bad soldering. The grip is a sealed unit, but are directions for cutting it apart and re-soldering here:

oh yeah, I made it home safe..

This piece of shit $250 battery:eek1

Me and eddie got up this morning and I jokingly say lets see how my new battery werks. The tempature was about 45 degrees, not too cold, should fire right up.

So, I goes out and turns the key on and imediately hit the starter button(just to see what happpens).the Piece of shit just goes clik, click,click...:cry:cry
I know I am suposed to warm the battery first, but this just seems soo counter Intiutive. So I let the key on for about a min with the parking light on and try again.. Click click click. Now I plug in my heated jacket for aboot another min, Same thing, Click, click grrrr, Hey it almost tried to do somthing.. Now my headlight comes on and I have my heat on too, so I let it sit a lil while longer.
It's prolly been about 4 or five mins by now and I hit the starter button again...

    Crank,crank, Vrrom, Vrooom,vroom:eek1:eek1:eek1..
The thing actually cranked harder (better) than I ever heard it crank before..

eddie said my face was priceless when it started:eek1:eek1:eek1:lol3:lol3

I didn't have much confidence it the battery (still don't), But it was just like they claim.. turn they key on,turn on an accessory, and let it sit a few mins (the colder the temp the longer you let it sit), Then hit the starter button..
