Have you had any other interest in the MOAB trip? I have a buddy interested as well. How many do you need to make the trip?
Hey RockinRog, I've had the usual "Boy that would be cool" or the "I'll do that someday, but not this year" stuff but nothing like "Let's do it" comment. 6 at $750 would cover expenses so that would be the minimum. I'm concentrating on Colorado at the moment and that's a go but a few more would make it better. If you're central Pa, you've gotta be close so stop in and see me some time! www.ECShonda.com
Ok, this is really getting down to the wire. If you have an interest, please let me know.
Giving this a bump for any folks that have used ironbutts service in the past to comment or get some folks interested in some of his upcoming trips.
side question---Chuck any word on when you will have the new crf250L?
Hey RockinRog, we haven't been able to order yet or recieved any details other than we're going to get it for 2013. My guess would be fall. I'll try to keep you up to date.
WOW I wish I would have ran across this early enough to make plans to join in. It really looks like a great deal but I can't make it happen this year. I will definitely be watching next years schedule.
I am still watching for the Moab trip. Just can't hold off too long to get the vacation scheduled etc. Keep us posted Chuck.
Have fun in Colorado.
I just don't think I can pull it off unless we can get a bunch of guys that are willing to wing it. The tough part is getting into an airport thats close, and there isn't. Another rider from my Barstow trip has put together some info with a 1000 mile off road trip that would need to be tested to determine daily range for motels, gas, etc. It's not my typical trip to offer without having as many details in hand as possible. The only feasable plan is to fly into Salt Lake and take a train to Green River or pick up everybody in Denver and haul them there. If anybody out there knows the best way for a bunch of guys to fly in and ride the best stuff in a weeks time chime in! Maybe a guide?
Did you sell out the Colorado trip?
I didn't sell out but a good load. I think we've got a great group of guys! I can't wait!
I'm curious how the Colorado trip turned out.
Hey there Rockinrog, I just got home today. Had a little problem on the road trip home but other than that it was a great time. A few bumps and bruises among the group but nothing major. A few got a real wake up call of what riding in the Rockies is all about and most of us just couldn't get enough and hated to leave. We were the talk of the town with the rig and all the bikes lined up right as you entered town. Quite a few stopped to see where we were from and the president of GOAT stopped in to offer any help we might need thru the week. I think we left a good impression on most. 2014 we'll do it again!
Were there any ADV inmates on the trip? What are your plans for 2013?
Not sure if any were ADV riders. One ex AA rider and the rest Dual Sport and Enduro Hounds. A day in the Dirt MX and LA Barstow to Vegas are next over Thanksgiving. Arizona in january which may be offered as a 2 week option this year. Colorado as I am thinking now will be 2014 and I found a great contact for help with the Utah trip for September 2013.
I see the AZ trip is sold out, business must be booming.
