Thanks, Murph. Glad to see you hung in there til the bitter end.:lol3 Now you know why I haven't started one for our trip up your way.:D

    :nah

Full disclosure...there was a touch of Bailey's in there - for medicinal reasons, of course.:uhoh Dave was in enough pain for both of us so I felt obligated to join him. Not to mention, it was thought we'd board the plane and actually take off and grab some much needed sleep.

    But still, $24.01?!?!:huh

    Thanks for coming along, Merlin!

There was probably a group buy on 12° titanium plates and pan head screws. :D

Ouch! It looks like they nid a nice job with the surgery at least.

Will the hardware remain in place, or do you plan to have it removed. I have had similar plates in my wrist for eight years, and the only time it bothered me at all was when a screw backed out and popped through my skin :eek1. I unscrewed it and closed the wound with crazy glue.

    Cheers,

    That's awesome poolman...badass.

I'm not sure what to do with it, so unless it bothers me I guess I'll just leave it. My only real concern is, if I do something similiarly stupid again, what will be the result...Something about that left leg is, it keeps getting pinned under the bike. Maybe I should learn to ride better...

They wanted to be sure to put the plate and screws in the right side, no I mean the left side, no I mean the correct side...

The doc was so proud of his work, he signed it.

And gave me this thing, sporting the KTM colors.

Fortunately, before it broke down...I switched it over to Yamaha colors...:lol3

Met whizzerwheel for lunch today. Presented him with a little memento of our journey...

Yep. That's the end of his control lever that snapped off in the crash.

Just in case he needs a reminder.

    EVilClown and wizzerwheel,

Your ride reports are the best:clap

You two seem to have a knack of smoothing the troubled waters as I follow in your wake:freaky

EC - While any rider would certainly appreciate the sentimental and heartfelt gift you bestowed upon WW, it does look a bit like a miniature "truck nut" missing its partner in crime:lol3

I'm sure your intentions were noble...

    Cheers,

Of course I couldn't be more honored than if I had just received an Oscar, or an Emmy, or even the fickle finger of fate.

I remember Evilclown picking that thing up off the asphalt.

It now has the prestigious job of holding my Tenere key.

A simple reminder that shit does happen quickly. :deal

I haven't been on a bike in 3 weeks. Raining and a cold 34F . Watching Dakar highlights and looking at my last Ecuador ride in pictures :1drink

One heck of a crappy New England weather day today. Although relatively warm, it's raining to beat the band. On the already frozen tundra. Makes one think of distant rides...and the planning of them...

    ...serious planning...

Trying to snow here on my hill in the woods, me I'm dreaming about some equatorial sunshine too but my new titanium hip says to hold off. Meanwhile, I'm hard into the worldwide web searching for stuff to help me wear out whats left of my body...
I'm gonna ask the doc at my 6 weeks post op checkout next week if snorkling's on my agenda. I heard longer for MC mountup's, there goes my winter ride ideas...:2cry
Current med lineup says no to the Negra Modelo's too. Beats having the big "C" !:doh

The American Heart Association (actually it's my little white pill says no) tells me to stay off the brewskis...

I forgot to mention this trivia of the day:
The key fob thingy above reminded me of my new titanium hip-looks just like what they jammed into my femur! Maybe lacked some polish on the ball end? :dunno
