Bad weather was brewing so I charged home. Made a good fast trip. There sits that new tire I didn't need.

Here is my rear Shinko 705 with 6500 miles of all types of terrain. I will be putting another one on. Anyone want to by a new Trailwing hauled on a bike but never mounted?

Five hours home from Oklahoma. Not bad. Great trip.

Thanks again to all who contributed to the track.

I had a good idea what I would see because I have been in Oklahoma several times and lived there a couple of years. Even so there were several pleasant surprises.

This would be a great track for people from anywhere to take a week and ride. You see so much diverse landscape it never gets old. It will also change the way you perceive Oklahoma.

Ed, I enjoyed reading this report from my home state. You did a great job with pictures and seeing the sites along the OAT as well. Looks like you have a trusty machine there in your DR. They're good bikes and the perfect choice for your trip!

    Happy Riding!

This is the mudhole that got me when coming from the North. Blind corner come up on a mudhole (when there had been no rain we thought) and then tried to throw a rooster tail right and kicking yourself right into the berm on the west.
    Good times.

LOL. From my post back in June of 2013. Sounds like she is started to get more info on dual sport bikes by maybe more exposure. and we still do not have any photo exposure to this OAT must see!

Great report! To do all you did in that timeframe (Geronimo's grave isn't just a 2 minute detour) is amazing.

    You're my current hero.

"I ended the day at the state park in Stilwell. Nice park but don’t bother. The park is right by the train tracks and they are not shy with the whistle…. All night long."

Brings back pleasant memories, I remember spending the night with my grandparents when I was around five or six and listening to the trains roll through there.

Great perspective and report on my home state.

Edstoll, Great ride report. Love all the well taken pics. I have visions of doing a nice ride report like this someday but I'm beginning to think it ain't never gonna happen ! ! Might just be cause I'm too damn lazy.

    And for Peter,

Great work you guys did on the OAT route. Don't even consider making that ride without giving me a call first. I'll be with you unless something really big is happening on my calendar. Looks like a lot of diversified terrain and roads, certainly a fun little tour. In fact, I'm thinkin' it might be a great first tour for my two friends who are relatively new adventure riders.

How did your rear wheel situation turn out? Could you press in new bearings or did you have to replace the wheel? Stator replaced?

No motor for me this week. I'm off on a 4 day self contained fall bicycle tour. No electrical problems, no wheel problems, just some nice fall pedaling. Bicycles are as beautifully uncomplicated as motorcycles are beautifully complicated.

Gotta hit the road, take care.

Yes Ron Oklahoma does offer the opportunity to occasionally raise the moving average. The DR does well, it had more left.

Great report. I've been wanting to see more of Oklahoma. I was born there almost 60 years ago. My father was stationed at the airbase across the road from Gene Autry, Ardmore AFB. Closed in 1957. I've only been back twice. Need to see more. Thanks.

Great job on the report. Im originally from Bartlesville and now live in Broken Arrow. Trailboss and I rode from tulsa and picked up the trail at the illinois river and headed south made it to Talahina. I went back solo and picked up where we left off and made it to Broken Bow before coming back home. Saw a black bear cross the trail ahead of me down by Smithville. Gotta do some more of the OAT. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work on the trail.
