Went on Friday night, main reason was to have the boy sling his leg over some trail bikes to get an idea on sizing as there is not a local dealer that has a CRF 100, 150 and 230 all on the floor to look at (or the equivalent in Yellow, Green or Blue). Jerry from Wetaskiwin (Central Sled and Cycle) was his usual helpful self so the boy will likely end up on a TTR 230.

Also wanted to look at the BMW HP4, one of the local dealer reps tried to give me a card and looked a bit miffed when I told him I would drive to Vancouver before giving "Rick the Prick" any more of my money.

I was there on Saturday morning.
Wandered around gawking at new stuff. The Honda cb1100 was a let down. Sure,it looks cool but man is it small!
I'm no rob1313 but could have been sized for adults instead of 14 year olds.

    Lol. Nice one!
I didn't even see that bike, I've decided that there are no new bikes is my future for awhile

They made a big deal about the new 500 but the cb was stuck off at the back of the booth.
The only booth more crowded was Hardley.

The CB1100 is a nice looking bike in piieces, but the pieces as a whole don't mesh right. kinda reminds me of the blind guys and the elephant joke, guy on the trunk says an elephant is a snake, guy of the leg says it is like a tree etc.
The slab sided tank is ok but doesn't merge into the curvy side panels, fake comstar wheels etc. nice looking bike but as a whole it doesn't draw me like a nice scrambler or guzzi.
On another front, the girls at ducati looked like they had a higher percentage of plastic than the bikes.
I went friday and just like last year the showgirls were clustered at the front door and that's where they stayed. Really don't know why the organizers even bother, walk-in, hand ticket to old man, have other old man stamp your hand and your in, hardly even enough time for a decent ogle.

hey, I was there during school hours so she was definitely old enough. The only thing indecent was her total disregard for public safety in that she didn't even offer to wipe the drool off my chin. I could've slipped and hurt myself.

I forgot to mention that the Honda PR rag (ride guide) has a really nice article about Rudi Zackso Sr. Owner of Scona cycle. He usually works the show in the honda booth sometime during the show. A real character, I had a really good chat with him last year. I was looking at the Veradaro and mentioned that I would love to see the Africa twin come here.

Alright riders, same old, same old. Saturday the 18th, 9am meet up at the humptys on yellowhead and 137. See the first post in this thread for further location details. I'm thinking we will have a smaller than usual crowd this year.

Still humpty's, eh? Y'all have a good time for me. Find a normal sized human and have them try the versys 1000 for me. We don't get it here.

Yeah, not a great place but it's easy for the out of town people to find, and a direct route to the show from there.
I'll see if I can find a normal sized person for you. The Versys 1000 looks alright, but I'm waiting to see how the new Strom 1000 rides. Might be my next toy once I burn out this Honda

If any of you guys are going to the MC show, drop by my booth and say Hi. I'll have my KLR there. Last year I rode it to Deadhorse, This year to Ushuaia Argentina starting Sept 2014.
