    Looks interesting.

I don't see the weight listed.

Also, wonder if you can get the MX with lighting/turn sigs (like the SM) or if the SM is available to order with larger wheel set.

Anyone have any experience importing a bike off Alibaba? Pit bike, scooter or otherwise? I'd love to get an electric motorcycle to play with. I live in California which is draconian with emissions (stupid beurocracy) so I assume it will be difficult despite these bikes having zero emissions. Google searching yields nothing for me except the motorized bicycle law.

Alta MX weight claimed to be around 255 lbs.

Perhaps this reply from the dealer may answer your question:
"Unfortunately converting the SM to enduro isn’t that simple because of the SM suspension and brakes. Specifically, the suspension is lowered and the forks use a radial mount that won’t easily convert to the sliding 2-piston off-road caliper. Depending on your state laws (not applicable in CA, for example) you’re much better off purchasing an MX and the SM lighting kit and switchgear to make it street legal. 18” rear wheels will be available shortly from Alta, and rumor has it that a KTM rear wheel will fit if you can’t wait."

How about WHEN it'll be available since it's been in "Pre-Order" status forever...

I had the privilege of looking at the Alta up close at the SF BMW dealer. Note that this is just the prototype demo of the SM model and the real thing will be even neater and cleaner.

looking very much like KTM compatible suspension, forks, wheels and brakes... which is a good thing!

I realize that a chain is easily the cheapest solution and arguably the most efficient, however on an electric bike, it would be so easy to rotate the motor 90 degrees and use a driveshaft. The bike would be almost maintenance free.

But that 90 deg. turn at the rear axle eats hp and uses battery juice. Plus adds weight.

Thank you for posting these photos!! Were you allowed to sit on it? If so, how did it "feel"? Ergos, width, COG, etc...

Yes sat on it and it feels good. Not much difference from a regular motocross bike...

they have a Facebook page that seems to be heating up with plenty of teaser pics... for those that are in California anyway. It could be many months until dealers carry in other states.

If it looks like a bicycle with a battery you´v done it wrong
115kg, 15hp, 95km/h top speed is not bad.
Missing +100km range, comfort bling and cargo space.
