Saroléa is back for the 2017 Isle of Man TT, continuing with its state-of-the-art carbon fiber chassis goodness and retro fairing design. On board will once again be Dean Harrison, who will be gunning for a podium-finish on the 2017 Saroléa SP7....

I have watched the Electric TT at the last 3 IoM events.

The Honda bikes are noticeably faster that the rest. They are a Million euro each, apparently.

I have had a chat with the chief engineer of the Mungen bikes at the last three TTs. Very, very interesting. They have to keep electronically limiting the engine power, otherwise the bike won't make a (60km) lap.

Even with the power limited, they are very quick.

Once they solve the energy density problem (batteries with decent capacity/size ratio), it is game over for petrol.

That's enough of that tarmac shit...

here's an E-bike in a real offroad scenario - racing an ISDE qualifier enduro...

ALTA MOTORS: A few months ago we had the opportunity to race the ISDE Sprint Qualifier at Washougal. The wet conditions suited the Redshift, and Jason Matheney was able to quickly adapt to the Redshift MX, and exploit the bike to his benefit, and the dismay of other racers.

At the end of the day on Saturday, Jason had finished 15th overall and 1st in 30+ Expert class. We'd like to thank everyone involved, and we're looking forward to more racing this summer!

He didnt use his bell to pass :lol3

interesting comments on the heavier track the advantage leaned towards the e-bike for better traction control given they make max power from the get go.

I wish they'd tone down the soundtrack so we can hear the electric motor whine. should start a thread on that, 'how do electric bikes get away with so much whining' :photog

Perhaps it is a case of "model run-out sale" in the US of A, for all the excess ones they have left over in Europe... before the current Freeride-E is superceeded by their next-generation version of the off-road E-bike...?

It seem's to have taken a long while for KTM to release the Freeride-E in the USA... why the long wait...? Recent progress in the field (of e-bikes) is rapidly going forward - and the initial sales of the electric KTM's has tapered off dramatically over here after the initial hype/rush. Many punters "waiting" to fork out for the (percieved) "playbike" that the Freeride E has been regarded... on the promise of things to come (bikes like the TACITA R and ALTA Redline - in a "fullsize" format - have given a glimpse of the future).

Freeride E's have been sitting on dealership floors over here now - since about the middle of last year - with a brand new showroom sticker price that is about 40 to 45% off what they were originally on sale for when released. (which torpedoed the resale value off those that had been sold).

This late release of the Freeride E to the US market has a little bit of "fire sale" feel to it, for mine...

ALTA REDSHIFT ~ had the priviledge for a solid extensive test run with a road legal Supernoto recently. Wicked sensational fun bike ~ did not expect the really impressive huge grin factor, would get one but registration in my country of residence (PRC) currently not possible and no importer ~ distributor anyways.... https://www.altamotors.co
