Nice bike. One of the best looking BMWs I've seen. Tell me about the fairing. Are the lites built in? It's a little hard to tell from the angle of the photo. I want to yard all the plastic off of my DL650 and start from scratch. I'm just not into the Japanese transformer toy look.

    Taking the low road back.

    Duckrider,
The fairing is from Italy (those guys that won the Cup, right Mauro?). It's made of fiberglass. The lights are mounted on the instrument backbone and poke through the holes in the fairing. You can probably order KTM fairing parts that are very similar. In fact, I think the Italian unit was copied from the 640 Adventure. Or it must be a generic Dakar fairing.

that fairing is exactly like the early 640 adventure fairing (97-99) but solid where the KTM unit has a smoked screen.

What's the possibility of you bringing some more of these tires in? I'd buy at least two sets.

    Jim,

Doesn't your fairing looks quite similar to this one on Frankenbeemer II???:D
...the soccer world cup, you are right, 24 years I had to wait and suffer in silence. Now my agony is over, at leat for the next 4 years...

It is a good fairing.....considering my freaking crash and how little it got damaged. but I have not painted it yet....

The fairing indeed is molded on the Ktm 640 and elongated to brace the acerbis g/s tank. You then can cut it and do whatsoever...

Mr Frankenbeemer, do you have any contacts about where to get that fairing on your BMW ?? After riding a KTM950 on the weekend and deciding it's not for me I want trick up my AT 750 a bit, I'd like to replace the headlights / fairing with something different / lighter and that looks like it would be great. any help would be apprciated.

    Mr Frankenbeemer? :rofl :rofl :rofl

Greg, I have the same fairing but unfortunately, I cut off the name of the company that produces them. You'll have to wait for frankenbeemer to reply. I got mine from him.

Greg, the mold is in Italy. They are made by an artisan on a order basis. They could be made with Fiberglass, Carbonfiber, or Kevlar.

I have a spare fiberglass one here in Maryland. Write me a private email and I tell you everything you need to know.

    Congrats on the new ride. Get a new regulator/rectifier, K&L p/n 20-3453, made for 888, 851, M900, 900SS & 916. It'll work on your E900. Usually cheaper than stock Duc parts.
