I am looking at crossing Nevada from Ely to Tonaph is 168 miles and at the max of my range. Is there any fuel between these 2 places on hwy 6?

A better ride is the from Ely to Eureka to Austin and then to Tonopah. It's nicer and has gas. Eureka is a bit funky, but fun. The 6 is a nice ride, but much better to do it all off road, but that's about 220 miles of dirt with no fuel.

Gas in Eureka, Austin or gas in Carvers--nothing on 6.

You CAN run all dirt, and some really fun stuff if you have the fuel capacity. 220 miles from Tonopah to Eureka without touching any pavement. If you get up in the mountains by Nine Mile Peak, be sure to stop at the sheep ranch up there on Antelope Valley Rd. just east of the trail. The rancher has a beautiful big boobed blonde bombshell country bumpkin wife that's really nice and drinks Bud Light while she's driving. :clap She kind of reminded me of Ellie Mae from the Beverly Hillbillies. :evil And push come to shove, they would give/sell you some fuel. Really nice people.

Yes, it's a short hop on 318 to Preston/Lund for fuel...the back track to 6 is 11 miles. It's about 25 miles from Ely to the 318 turn...you're only gaining 14 miles of range, but it is a gain. I'd just grab a one gallon can in Ely if you're worried about your range.

It doesn't buy you much, but we did get gas in Lund when we did the TAT thru there a few years ago.
