In case you don't know where we are camping. This is the spot. I think it looks like a sign for extraterrestrials or something. :imaposer
Or maybe a turtle with his head stuck up something. :D

Sunrise about 6:30 am and Sunset about 6:30 pm for that area and those dates.
Nearest gas is about 48 miles to Pioche.
    I can't wait! :clap

Leave in 17 days. We're excited too! That campground does look funny from above.
On a side note, LittlePosum and I are meeting up with another group at the Alvord on the way home if anyone is interested in an extended trip. Will be there 10/2-8.

Looks like Nevada is devoid of smoke.

Pman you have hexed me! This afternoon i won a wrestling match with a new knobie tire for my back wheel. By pinching the old tube tube on the first try I guess technically, I got my flat out of the way before the trip begins!
Can't wait to go burn that tire up!

I traced out a 182 mile loop that includes an in and out to the top of 11,658 foot Mt Washington. There are some 5,000 year old Bristlecone Pines up there.

There may be a 10,000 year clock up there also someday.

Mount Washington is a mountain in White Pine County in the state of Nevada. The mountain climbs to an elevation of 11,658 feet and is in Great Basin National Park.
Land near the summit and adjoining the national park was purchased in 2001 by The Long Now Foundation as a potential site for the Clock of the Long Now. The announcement of the land purchase was made at Baker, the gateway town of the national park, and in nearby Ely, Nevada at a gathering of White Pine County officials sponsored by Ely's Economic Diversification Council. The property was described as 180.3 acres made up of eleven patented mining claims dating back to 1916.

Trying to find what fire restrictions are down there if any. Will bring the Charcoal BBQ/smoker if allowed. Otherwise I'll just throw the gas one in. Prefer the charcoal one though.
We've got dinner covered for two of the nights for everyone. Pork Verde and Mexican for one night and chicken n rice for another. The grill will be available for whatever the other nights.

I called the BLM a few days ago and there are no fire restrictions. There really isn't much fuel to burn in that area of Nevada anyway. :D
    That's very generous of you!

Bring warm clothes! Will try and scrounge up some firewood too. That was the closest weather station I could find. It's at 5,300'. Might be some snow covered peaks.
    No Dust!!!
