    Hi guys.

It's been a long time reading all what is happening here and I thought this could be a great opportunity to write my first post.

Though it's not a "real" adventure, I'd like to share this vid with you. It's been recorded in Madrid, Spain. The idea was to take a ride with my good friend medelxt660r, escape from the office and feel the autumn outside the "big city".

Spain is not as wide as other countries could be, true. But we have beautiful places everywhere, really close from where we are. The sun is always by our side which makes a simple afternoon ride a pleasure for your eyes.

I hope you enjoy the following. Thanks for your time.

    Very well done.
    Now where is my passport.
Wish the bridge would get finished so I could ride it to Cadiz & go north to find your roads.
    Neat!

    thanks for that.

Whenever I think of doing an off road trip, Spain comes to mind. I imagine riding terrain like you just showed, then each evening finding a country bar & staying overnight then riding on to the next one........ a massive off road pub crawl.......... thats possible right?

Are there rural bar bed & breakfast type places in Spain ? - I mean away from the touristic areas.

    Great video, thanks for sharing.

Hey Bryn, I like your idea.
Spain is definitely on the top of the list of countries I'd like to explore.
Did you know Lois (of Lois on the Loose fame) runs adventure rides in Spain?

Excellente! Great job with the video. I wish we could ride like that in my part of Germany, but most of the dirt roads are verboten.

Can you tell me the song/artist that is on the soundtrack?

Hi again. I really appreciate your comments. Thank you all.

    @ Bryn1203
Here in Spain you can find several low cost places to stay at night (apart from bars, hehe) which are called "pensiones" and/or "albergues". If you really want to, I can help you to find them out as I think it would be easier for me:thumb

    @ sfwo79
"Verboten" is "forbidden", right? Well, here in Spain, riding offroad is mostly forbidden too. The thing is to choose the "less illegal" tracks in order not to have serious problems. Fines can go up to 60.000 € ($85.000) if you accidentally go inside a national park. Sometimes it's impossible to know if you're inside or not so having a GPS is necessary.
Anyway, I have lots of tracks to ride offroad at very low risk and, specially, one long track that goes from Cadiz to Santander (very north of Spain). That's a 95% offroad 1.000 km track!!!
I've sent you in a private message the name of the song & artist from my vid :beer

There's a lot of countries I'd like to visit with my bike, but it's true offroad driving is not permitted everywhere. One of my big dreams is to ride across the USA... Time to time!

    Thanks again for your comments.

    Take care,
    Beltran

Well, "albergues" are a sort of lodging for hikers or similar. Normally, you can find them outside the big cities. It's just what it would be interesting in this situation.

I'm sure there's a word for that in english, but I can't find it now. It's not far from the concept of "bed and breakfast".

I'm affraid, but yes ; they are. Things are not going well for offroad riding in Spain, but we keep on our bikes anyway. There are provinces more restricted than others, but the main idea is that offroad riding is not well accepted.
