I put the tacticool stuff on my AK for a few reasons, aesthetics being the least of my concerns (obviously)

    1. longer and adjustable stock. The warsaw stock was much too short
    2. much better handcrip
    3. no more burnination on the support hand

The Daniel Defense finally arrived last week. Who knows when it will ever get shot. Hell, one of the XD/Ms has been in the safe over a year now and still hasn't been shot yet. :dunno

:baldy I thought this was just for black guns.

If we're showing handguns, I'll add my STI's to the thread as well. :1drink

If you go back to the thread-starter, CodyY, you'll note that he said "modern sporting firearms" and military inspired gear. He then started things off by showing a Springfield Armory XD. Not a military gun as far as I know, but certainly modern and possibly inspired by military weaponry.

And you can't be much more military inspired than a 1911......although one might question modernity given that it's a 101 year old design! :lol3

Nice handguns by the way!! :D I have an STI Edge that did yeoman service for me for a number of years, and many thousands of rounds, shooting IPSC.

You'll like the lightweight M&P 15-22 then, it weighs about 4# out of the box.

As .22 pistols go, have you looked at the Ruger SR 22? Small, light, does have a DA first-shot, but thereafter the action is SA. Decent accuracy.

I shot one a couple weeks ago from my buddy that sold me the sig 556. It was cool but way too plasticky. Kind of chunky too. Felt more like a toy than a weapon.

The rounds eject from the front. And they don't fly out, they fall out being pushed by the last one.

Cool I guess but not my style

I agree with you....the one thing you can say about them is the cockroaches will be using them after we are dust.

Actually as the bolt closes it shoves out the spent brass clear out the front of the rifle. It will eject even when held straight up. The spent brass does not come out with a great deal of force, but they do not stack up in the gun then fall out. I've shot a few of these.

When I was looking for a .22 pistol a few months back I really wanted to see one of these, but none of the shops in town had any or knew when they were going to come in. I opted for a Sig Mosquito instead. After a couple weeks I found an SR 22 and was so glad I had gone with the Sig. The feel Sig was so much better than the Ruger.

if you get one like this:

you don't have to SBR it. There is a 17" barrel buried in there.

Sure it's plasticy but it's extremely compact, ambidextrous, doesn't spit gas/powder in your face from the ejection port like every other 5.56 bullpup, cost no more than a good AR (for the moment), is easy to clean, and is guaranteed to give the Elmer Fudds at the range fits.

Anybody else have a boner for SPR MK12 rifles?

There's a 150 page thread over on ARF.

I'm thinking of doing a mk12 "inspired" build in 6.8. I can't afford all the stuff to do a clone but they're damn cool when you start reading up on em

    I did too until I did a side-by-side comparison with a KAC ST-15.
