Funny thing is you don't see them being used by the military anymore. Are you going to do a Mod 0 or a Mod 1?

Seems the mk11 7.62 variant has taken over it's role, from what i gather.

More Mod 0 -ish. I prefer the smooth handguard with continuous rail approach for this application. My M4gery has a ff carbine length quad rail on it. I want a 18" barrel with a 15" or so lightweight handguard

This may not be tacticool, but I like it. Predecessor to the
Scout Squad, believe they called it the Bush Rifle.

Her's my first evil black rifle, sort of an SPR style.

I got the bug again and built this one next
    [IMG]

I had this one built as my all around multi purpose bolt gun. The gunsmith who built it built the 2010 F class open championship winning rifle so I saw no need to get any thing else after that. It's a 6.5x47 Lapua, hasn't shot over 1/8 MOA since I got it. About 200 rds down the tube so far

Ok, after seeing these pics. I'm gonna have to do a Mod 0. Sooooooo sweet.

A little more reading says the mk12 is being phased out in favor of the SCAR based MK20.

M1A's are just cool not tacticool. Especially with a wood stock.

Those aren't all MK12's. The first one looks like some strange SPR-ish creation. They have 11" barrels instead of the 18" they're supposed to have. And that's a lot of glass for an 11" barrel. Also looks to be a recent pic. The hand guard looks to be a Gen III PRI, the stock is a Magpul ACS and the PEQ-15 point to it being recent. The non-ballistic helmet and UCP camo suggest it being state-side training maybe. But usually they wear Multi-cam. UCP has been canceled and Multi-Cam has replaced it. Do you know if this was some training thing or airsoft?
