Good to see you got your bike fixed, had some quality time with your dad, and learned a few things in the process.:clap

I very rarely read an entire thread, I was fascinated by this one.

    Glad it's fixed!

Glad to see you back on two wheels. It's amazing what a difference stepping away from the job for a day or two will make. Glad you didn't have to take it back to the shop.

Okay, been a few months and a few thousand kilometers -- both on tarmac and dirt.

Bolts are holding fast, haven't budged. Titanium putty shows no signs of being anything close to a "temporary" repair.

So far, this fix is near perfect for a fraction of the price of a machine shop

After winter, once the bike has gone through a freeze-thaw cycle or two, and a few thousand more KMS, I'll report back.

    Cheers

Are you selling Devcon? I got lots....:roflGood stuff still holding the planetaries in my former BIL pet buldozer and the "rebuilt with it" fuel gauge flange on my bushcar, holding fine after many years of exposure to gasoline.:clap

I wish I was! Had to buy a whole pound of stuff at $120 bucks when in the USA you can get it in a few ounce sizes :p Maybe with my positive experience I can become an agent?

Glad to hear it's holding your gear together so well too, that gives me great hope longer-term!

    Regards
