The truck was parked on Friday. Went to use it Monday morning and it will not shift. ABS light is flashing (was not last week). It is as though foot is not on brake while trying to shift. Something was messed up with the wiring for the trailer lights but not sure what. Company truck, not mine.

I looked on the F150 forum and found no solution there.

    TIA

Or a blown fuse from screwing around with trailer lights.

You probably have one of those shift interlocks that will not let you shift until you put on the brake.

Something in trailer lights wiring was messed up, fuse blown

shift interlock . . . likely a pressure switch in teh brake light circuit -- there may be an override under s small lastic plug in the console -- if there is such a plg, remove it, and press down with a small screwdriver

Yup, this happened to my brother's F150 recently. Fuse that controls the back-up light.

    Piece of cake, quick fix.

I checked all the fuses. None were blown.
    Where is the interlock, exactly?

Can't say on your trunk -- on my Frontier, there was a small cover in the console (made of the same material, and flush, so tough to find) . . . remove the cover, and, poof, zippo bang!

actually you turn the key to just before the ignition comes on. if you turn it far enough for the dash to light up the shift lock will engage.
Then to neutral and so on

works on all modern F or E series :clap

yeah he probably thinks the dumbass switches that keep you from shifting the truck without pressing the brake won't be on unless the motor is actually running. oops did i say that out loud... No i didn't I typed it with out thinking.. wait no i thought about that... Oh hell I bet he puts you on ignore as well because you corrected him. He don't like it when someone points out he's partly wrong.

I had that happen to mine. It was the brake light fuse. Pull the brake light fuse out and see if it will shift. Don't trust looking at it.
